Our University Strategy, which was launched in January 2022 sets out a clear vision – that we inspire excellence to achieve the remarkable and build an inclusive world. The University is an incredibly exciting place – we create and share new knowledge to find answers to the greatest challenges facing humanity. You can find this research, education, knowledge exchange, and enterprise in every one of our Faculties and Schools. And it is our job in the Student Experience Directorate (SED) to provide the support, information, and co- and extra-curricular activities that students need to thrive during their time at University.

We are committed to working in partnership with students to help them navigate their own journey; and engage them in the Southampton community, supporting them through their life as a student, and supporting and enabling our academic colleagues to deliver an outstanding provision for the benefit of our students.

Teaching and learning practices are flexible and inclusive and are enhanced by opportunities for engagement with our world-leading research and enterprise activity. Creating a learning experience that equips our students with the skills and mindset to flourish in the world of the future as the leaders of tomorrow, is our number one priority. During their time at the University, and as graduates, our students will feel supported to thrive, and enjoy a sense of pride and belonging as engaged members of our community.

It is an exciting time to join us and bring your ideas to life to support delivering the globally recognised University of Southampton Experience that sets our students apart as curious, engaged, articulate, enterprising, culturally aware, and socially and environmentally responsible.
