The University of Bedfordshire Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Head of School for its newly formed School of Nursing.
This is an exciting time to join the Faculty with a restructure of Schools and the approval of a new curriculum. This is an opportunity for an outstanding leader to shape the direction and purpose of the School. With a focus on enhancing student experience and delivering quality nurse education the Faculty is looking for someone with drive and ambition who can contribute to a desire to build on current strengths and ensure a culture of excellence in terms of teaching and learning.
Heads of School offer leadership and management to the School’s team of academic and professional support staff to deliver a high quality student experience, develop and oversee delivery of the school’s portfolio, ensure it performs highly against all relevant quality review and inspection standards, remains a financially sustainable area of our activity and supports leaders of our research activity in the development of excellent research.
Heads of School are also key members of the Faculty Executive Group and are expected to contribute more widely to the strategic development of the University taking on specific leadership roles and tasks as required.
This post in particular provides leadership to a School which embraces preregistration courses in Nursing and requires a candidate who has an excellent understanding of the sector and excellent relationship and partnership building skills. It involves a significant line management responsibility and also requires good people and performance management skills, the ability to lead a team and excellent communication skills. Because of the nature of the School an NMC registrant is strongly preferred.
