The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an EU institution aims to advance the innovation capacity of Europe by supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the EU. EIT’s mission is to contribute the Europe's competitiveness, sustainable economic growth and job creation by supporting businesses, higher education institutions and research organisations, and also promoting and strengthening their cooperation.
To achieve its mission, EIT operates its actions under Knowledge Innovation Communities (KICs) which work in different thematic areas. KICs conduct training, mentoring and incubation practices that encompasses the journey of entrepreneurs from idea to research, research to business and business to market by bringing together businesses, educational institutions and research organizations in thematic technology circles in terms of grants and investments.
