Afghanistan Western Region Earthquakes 2023

Several catastrophic earthquakes have struck western Afghanistan, including one 6.3-magnitude on 7 October 2023, one 6.3-magnitude on 11 October, and another 6.4-magnitude earthquake on 15 October. Zinda Jan district in Herat province was the epicentre of the first earthquake and remains the most affected district, where over 95 per cent of home are destroyed.
