How we help refugees Our team is here to support refugees who are finding their lives being affected by unforeseen, terrible circumstances. We provide careers information, advice and employability support to those seeking work across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire. Asylum Welcome - information, advice and practical support to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants living in Oxfordshire. Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action - a resource for asylum seekers and refugees as well as health professionals, charities and volunteers. Oxford University Ukrainian Society - a society which promotes Ukrainian culture and intellectual heritage within the University of Oxford who are currently fundraising towards humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Refugee Resource Oxford - an organisation working collaboratively to relieve distress, improve well-being and facilitate the integration of refugees and asylum seekers in Oxfordshire. Aspire Oxford - employment and housing support for refugees. Connection Support Oxfordshire - support for refugees in Oxfordshire to overcome homelessness and achieve independence. Buckinghamshire: Bucks Skills Hub - support and information for refugees seeking work in Buckinghamshire. Skill Up Bucks - employability programme providing opportunities for people aged 17+ to meet and interact with employers across Buckinghamshire. Connection Support Buckinghamshire - support for refugees in Buckinghamshire to overcome homelessness and achieve independence. Wycombe Refugee Partnership - support for refugee families with finding rental accommodation, helping with job-seeking and registration with schools, doctors, dentists and English classes. Community Impact Bucks - a comprehensive resource explaining all community support available to Ukrainian refugees in Buckinghamshire. Marlow Refugee Action - This group can offer support in finding sponsors for Ukrainian families and vice versa; assistance in the completion of visas, and translators and interpreters for calls with Ukrainian families. Going forward they are also looking to help people find jobs and, with the help of other organisations, support families to settle in the UK. Reading Ukrainian Community Centre - a single point of contact for all essential information for Ukrainians arriving, settling and long-term living in Berkshire. West Berkshire Ukraine Support Hub - The Support Hub is open five days a week - 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:30pm on Fridays. Slough Refugee Support - helping refugees and asylum seekers across the Thames Valley. Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Ukraine Support - telephone support line for anyone fleeing the conflict in Ukraine is open Monday – Friday 10am-5.30pm, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 11am-2pm. The Helpline number is 0203 514 8117 at which point you will be able to select the relevant option. The Sanctuary Foundation - Promoting welcome and welfare for Ukrainian refugees. Wokingham Support for Ukraine - a dedicated webpage to keep people up-to-date on how the council and local partners are supporting Ukraine. UK Government Support Welcome! a guide for Ukrainians arriving in the UK Guidance for Ukrainian nationals and their family members to come to the UK under the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme. Information about how to apply for a Visa under the Ukraine sponsorship scheme Guidance on using the 'UK Immigration ID Check' app for applying to work, study or live in the UK. UK Visa support for Ukrainian nationals Guidance for family members of British nationals, UK settled persons and certain others to come to, or stay in the UK under the Ukraine Family Scheme Free travel for Ukrainians Ukrainian nationals travelling to the UK are offered free travel on National Rail services, to help them get to a safe place. To make use of this scheme, Ukrainians will need to show a Ukrainian passport and a boarding pass or ticket showing their arrival into the UK. The offer is valid across all train operators in England, Scotland and Wales, and they will have 48 hours from arrival in the UK to complete their journey. They will also be able to use London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services if their journey requires them to travel between London national rail stations. Driving courses for Ukrainians The AA Charitable Trust has agreed to support Ukrainian refugees in the UK by offering a free Drive Confident UK driving familiarisation course from AA Driving School and BSM. The course comprises of one two-hour practical driving refresher lesson with a driving instructor in their tuition car. It is for qualified drivers who have a full driving licence and is subject to availability of instructors.
