AEGIS Summer School

The AEGIS Summer School takes place every two years and alternates with the European Conference on African Studies (ECAS). Each Summer School adopts a specific theme linked to the upcoming ECAS Conference, which participants are invited to focus on, with the intention to present a paper at the Conference. The Summer School offers a space for young scholars from around the world undertaking research on Africa-related contexts to share their work in an intellectually supportive and intensive environment and in a relaxed setting. This aims to facilitate strong bonds and collaborative connections between researchers working in diverse fields and contexts.

Details of the next Summer School will be published on this page in due course.

How to apply to the Summer School

Applicants to the AEGIS Summer School should be PhD students working on an Africa-related field who have undertaken some fieldwork or are in the writing up stage of their research project. Applications from recently finished PhD students will also be considered.
