Keynote Talk by Senior Director of Innovation at UPS, Jack Levis at AMCS Fleet Management Summit

We were delighted to welcome Jack Levis (ex-Senior Director of Innovation at UPS) as our keynote speaker at our Summit. Jack delivered a talk on Innovation in Fleet Management. This is part of the AMCS Inspire series designed to generate insights, inspiration and innovation.

Jack was the business owner and process designer for UPS’ Package Flow Technology suite of systems which includes its award-winning optimization, ORION (On Road Integrated Optimization and Navigation).  These tools have been a breakthrough change for UPS, resulting in a reduction of 225 million miles driven each year.

Jack’s keynote address is entitled: Ten Steps to Innovation – Math and Psychology – learning from data and people.

It provided insights into how UPS applied a data driven approach to fleet maintenance and supported it with a program to engage staff to adopt new technologies. He provided insights into how UPS used data to move from preventative to predictive maintenance to deliver higher vehicle uptime and lower maintenance costs.

Inspire event in Germany at SASE in Iserlohn

At the SASE FORUM, renowned speakers from research and science, from companies in the municipal and private waste management industry as well as the recycling industry reported on the status quo as well as the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in the circular economy.

The exchange of experiences with the speakers, the stakeholders and the companies from the industry will give the overview of the potentials and the way to become a digital company in the circular economy.
