Here we sit, together underneath the tree

We have our our stories, our open hearts, our curious minds

Through conversation, we reflect and learn

Taking a moment to throw back our heads, laughing, weeping and singing

Before we step out into the wild world again.

– Auriel Majumdar

Valerie Kushata, Director,
People & Culture Group, United Nations OPS

Auriel helped me to value and see myself by letting go of thought patterns / behaviours that no longer serve me in this chapter of my life.

Working with Auriel was liberating as she had the ability to deeply listen to me to the point where I heard myself think. Her creative nature enabled her to hear what I said visually which had a positive impact on me. Auriel supported me in seeing myself differently and shared tools that supported and validated my aspirations. The impact is HUGE!

I felt supported and validated in a manner that I had not experienced before. Our journey was uplifting, validating, inspiring and above all, fun.

Maria de Souza, Programmer,
Off the Shelf Festival of Words

We have worked with Auriel for many years engaging her as a moderator for 'in conversation' events at Off the Shelf Festival of Words, Sheffield with a wide variety of guests including Countdown's Susie Dent, musician Viv Albertine, writer Lemn Sissay and former Spice Girl Melanie C.

Auriel is a delight to work with, reliable, professional, and always well researched. She brings an intelligence and warmth to the events making her guests feel relaxed whilst also drawing them out to create interesting and in-depth conversations. We have had lovely feedback about her from the speakers we have booked as well as from our audiences.

We love working with her and feel she contributes a dynamic element to our festival.

Director,
London-based cultural organisation

Auriel has been a wonderful coach. Our conversations have navigated the complexities of identity, leadership, institutional culture, individual purpose, and much else. The way in which she holds and inhabits a space for dialogue is characterised by a combination of warmth, humanity, perceptiveness and rich attention. She's a wonderful listener, has a knack for asking the right question (at the right time), and strikes a rare balance between leaving space for the organic flow of conversation and steering it where it needs to go. In our sessions over the last year, she's helped me both zoom out of individual moments to hold things in a longer perspective and zoom in to the truths of feeling on a given day. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

and CEO of Missing People

Auriel is my Coach Supervisor. I love the mix of warmth, questions and perceptiveness Auriel brings. She sees and hears things that are new and sometimes surprising and I really like the freshness of that. It feels grounding and I feel grounded when we talk - feet on the floor stuff. I’m hoping for (and I feel I get), her honesty. She both reflects back what she hears and interestingly to me, how it makes you feel, in a full-bodied way and I think that is you acutely listening with your whole self and provides me with fresh, and sometimes surprising insight.

I take away a fab mix of new energy and belief in the magic and power of coaching, and new learning – books, or articles to devour. Auriel has helped me to listen in new ways – using my intuition and a holistic approach to build empathy and understanding to new depths.

Auriel’s impact on me has been both profound and gentle - a knowing that comes from working with someone who shows you who they really are without bluster or veneer, can give rise to permission to be who you truly are in your own work without fear. Her creativity and wisdom translate into the work I do with my own clients and have supported my own conviction in becoming a compassion-led coaching supervisor.

Peaceful, challenging, joyful, stimulating… like stepping outside into the sunshine with your eyes closed and feeling the hazy warmth on your face, the firm ground beneath your feet - there is an interesting sound somewhere that you can't quite place, bringing a gentle disruption to your stillness and forcing you to open your eyes and look, to use all of your senses to really see / hear / touch / taste feel your experience in that moment. It brings everything together into sharp focus. I always leave our time together calmer, clearer, more considered.

When we are in sessions together it feels warm. Quite often I come in feeling heavy and serious and through exploration, this is lifted and I feel like I am more myself and more assured in my practice walking out of the sessions. It’s like a lightning or lifting experience. At times I can feel a bit giddy with the relief of help to put down the heavy load I’ve been carrying.
