70% of staff at Enterprise Ireland-backed firms live outside Dublin as agency reports 20,000 new jobs

The agency’s client companies employed 218,178 people in 2022, with the government praising the ‘regional balance’ of these jobs

The number of people employed by Enterprise Ireland-backed companies grew by nearly 20,000 last year despite reports of a global economic slowdown, an increase of 5 per cent compared to 2021.

The agency, which is in charge of helping Irish businesses in world markets, disclosed in its annual report that job creation from its client companies was “ahead of target” in 2022, with some 218,178 people employed by these firms.
