What is stress?
About Stress
Stress is a natural feeling of not being able to cope with specific demands and events, and can at times leave us feel overwhelming & increase our anxiety, sadness, fear, anger, and frustration, however it is important to acknowledge that stress can help us be productive at times which is why it is important to identify negative stress and take positive steps to reduce it.
Stress usually happens when we are in a situation that we don’t feel we can manage or control. It’s also a physical, mental or emotional reaction to when we are feeling threatened or under pressure.
Our courses are run in a small group setting which creates the perfect environment to learn new calming techniques and share your experience with others if you want to.
The course runs for 1 hour per session over 4 weeks. You can choose from an in-person workshop at our beautiful Calman Centre in the grounds of Gartnavel Hospital Campus; in your local community; or if you are unable to attend in person, you can join us online from the comfort of your own home.
If you are unsure whether the 4-week course is suitable, you could try our 45-minute taster session first.
