Plastics in Agriculture-sources and pathways of plastic from agriculture

Plastic is an important material used in agriculture. It has transformed how we farm, from simple baler twine to silage wrap and mulch film. However, these plastics can occasionally escape into the environment, getting into our soil, rivers and eventually our sea!
This resource is part of a series of three designed around the City and Guilds Advanced Diploma in Agriculture, looking at sources and impacts of plastic pollution as well as possible solutions and good waste management practice. Each lesson contains a powerpoint and student activity worksheets.
This resource will
• Describe different types of plastics used in agriculture
• Examine the pathway of plastics to the environment from agriculture and their impacts
