Plastics in Agriculture - how plastic is used and managed in agriculture

Plastic is an important material used in agriculture. It has transformed how we farm, from simple baler twine to silage wrap. However, if these resources are not managed well they can escape into the environment, getting into our soil, rivers and eventually our sea!
This resource is part of a series of three designed around the City and Guilds Advanced Diploma in Agriculture, looking at sources and impacts of plastic pollution as well as possible solutions and good waste management practice. Each lesson contains a powerpoint and student activity worksheets.
This resource will:
1. Describe how plastics have changed farming practice
2. Apply the waste hierarchy within the agriculture sector
3. Outline good plastic waste management
