About this event

As part of our ongoing work to create and promote a positive and inclusive research culture OD&PL are holding a series of café style conversations. These are based on the format used by the Wellcome Trust as a space to discuss challenges and propose ideas.

We want to hear about the challenges you face, what we are already doing well, and what would a better culture look like. These Cafés form part of an ongoing project to promote a positive research culture, and the discussions will help to propose solutions for how the institution could change.

Café conversations will be run regularly, some will be open topic and some will focus on a particular theme. An overview of the Cafés , how they run and some of the themes we will be addressing can be found on our OD&PL Researcher Development and Culture website: https://researchersupport.leeds.ac.uk/

The Cafés will aim to run TWO themes per session. Each Café will include multiple groups of up to 10 people with a facilitator to help guide and direct the discussion. At the end of each Café the challenges, examples of best practice and ideas will be shared with all participants, responses will be anonymised.

Another part of the project is to build a Research Culture Community, a network to discuss further plans and to provide members with an opportunity to share their ideas and examples of best practice. The Cafés and community will be supported by our new Research Culture Team. To get involved and join, click here: Research Culture Team.

This open topic Research Culture Café will take place on campus; details will be emailed to participants closer to the event. In the event that we need to switch to Zoom, participants will be emailed a link and joining instructions in advance of the event.
