About this event

Returning to campus

To help keep you, your fellow students and our staff safe, there will be a planned, phased return to campus which will be supported by COVID-19 testing for non-symptomatic students.

Once you know when you want to return, please follow these steps:

1. Check the latest guidance on travelling on the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland websites, whether you’re travelling from within or outwith the UK.

Please note: When travelling, you should wear a face covering, unless you’re exempt; plan your journey in advance to avoid busy times and routes; wash/sanitise your hands regularly; and keep your distance where possible. Where practical, students should use private transport to return to their term-time household and should not share a car with anyone from outside of their household or extended household.

2. Speak with your flatmates and organise to return to your term-time accommodation on the same day, where possible. This will give you the option to take no-symptoms tests at the same time as one another (see point 5) and, if all results are negative, to relax rules around physical distancing within your flat (more details below).3. Once you know when you are travelling back, book your accommodation arrival slot:

• If you want to arrive between 8am and 5pm book here

• If you want to arrive after 5pm to 10pm book here

Letting us know when to expect you and helping us to facilitate your safe return.4. If none of the available slots match your travel plans, please get in touch via email so we can make alternative arrangements for your arrival: accommodation@stir.ac.uk 5. Book your COVID-19 tests at the test centre, located on campus in the Pathfoot building. Two tests, three days apart, are required and dates can be booked:

January 8 - 22

January 23 - February 1 , February 5 and February 8

Please note: If you and your flatmates all receive two negative test results, you can relax the household forming rules, detailed below. In this scenario, with permission of all in the household, one person should send all of their flatmates’ results to Accommodation Services. This record will help us in ensuring everyone’s safety and wellbeing.

6. Check the Protection Level in place in the Stirling Council area and familiarise yourself with what that means for socialising and travel. Stirling is currently under Level 3, however, this is constantly under review and could change.

7. Remind yourself of the University of Stirling Campus Commitment and the Community Code for Students University Accommodation.

Household reforming

When you arrive back, you and your flatmates will be reforming your household. To do this as safely as possible, we ask that you all follow two-metre physical distancing within your flat in the 10 days following your return. You are permitted to relax these physical distancing rules within your household sooner should you and your flatmates receive two negative COVID-19 tests.

Please note, negative tests can only relax the restrictions within your flat and you should continue to follow government, public health and University guidance outwith your accommodation. Please continue to wear face coverings in University buildings, including in your accommodation stairwells and corridors.

Protecting yourself and your flatmates

To help keep everyone in your home safe and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, you must:

• Maintain good personal hygiene, washing your hands regularly

• Clean shared areas (such as kitchens/shower rooms/toilets) before and after every use

• Wash, dry and put away dishes immediately after use

• Take out rubbish daily, double bagging waste where necessary to prevent spills

• Only use the lifts if you are unable to use the stairs

• Not host or attend social gatherings in your accommodation, or in any communal accommodation social spaces, that breach government guidance.
