CYMRAEG

Bydd y sesiynau ar-lein hyn ar gael i unrhyw un sy'n darparu gofal i bobl sy'n byw â dementia, ac sydd ddim yn teimlo'n hyderus i siarad Cymraeg â phobl sy'n byw gyda dementia. Mae nhe hefyd yn agored i bobl sydd heb unrhyw sgiliau Cymraeg ac maent yn tynnu sylw at ba gefnogaeth sydd ar gael iddynt i ddarparu gwasanaethau i bobl sy'n byw gyda dementia, os mae Cymraeg yw eu hiaith gyfathrebu.

Bydd y digwyddiad hwn yn cael ei gynnal ar Zoom. Caiff y ddolen ymuno ei ddanfon atoch y diwrnod cyn y digwyddiad, os ydych wedi cofrestru.

Sesiwn 1 – Sesiwn ymwybyddiaeth iaith Gymraeg o fewn iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol

Bydd y sesiwn hon ar ymwybyddiaeth iaith Gymraeg. Byddwch yn darganfod mwy am ddeddfwriaeth a'r cynnig rhagweithiol yn ogystal â sut a pham mae Cymraeg yn sgil bwysig ar unrhyw lefel yn y sector iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol ledled Cymru.

Sesiwn 2 – Iaith, urddas a gofal

Yn y sesiwn hon byddwch yn clywed storïau gan siaradwyr Cymraeg iaith gyntaf a sut mae peidio â chlywed neu siarad eu hiaith eu hunain wedi effeithio arnynt.

Sesiwn 3 – Iaith a'r ymennydd

Yn dilyn ymchwil mewn cartrefi gofal, bydd y sesiwn hon yn canolbwyntio ar sut gall iaith effeithio ar ofal gyda rhywfaint o gyfeiriad at iaith a'r ymennydd - bydd y sesiwn hon yn eich helpu i ddeall pam mae angen i rai pobl sy'n byw gyda dementia cyfathrebu yn eu hiaith nhw.

Sesiwn 4 – Asesiad cof

Bydd y sesiwn hon yn esbonio pam a sut i gynnal asesiadau Cymraeg a beth sy'n digwydd os nad yw hyn yn bosibl.

ENGLISH

These online sessions are open to anyone providing care to people living with dementia. They are aimed at people who feel less confident to speak any Welsh with people living with dementia. They are also aimed at people who have no Welsh language skills and highlights what support is available for them to be able to deliver services to people living with dementia if their language of communication is Welsh.

This event will be held on Zoom. You will be sent the joining link the day before the event if you have registered.

Session 1 – Welsh language awareness in Health and Social Care session

This session will be around Welsh language awareness. Find out a bit more about legislation and the active offer and how and why Welsh language, at any level, is an important skill in the health and social care sector across Wales.

Session 2 – Language, dignity and care

In this session you will hear stories from first language Welsh speakers on the impact on them of not being able to hear or speak their own language.

Session 3 – Language and the brain

Research in care homes on how language can impact care and some reference to

language and the brain – this session is to help you understand why some people living with dementia need to be able to communicate in their own language

Session 4 – Memory assessment

This session will explain why and how to undertake Welsh language assessments and what can happen if this is not done.
