About this event

This online conference is ideal for those directly involved with designing , building, or adapting housing and homes to support the needs of those living with dementia.

For those with the purchasing and prescribing power - who want to know how sensory integration , bio-dynamic lighting and e-health solutions work and where to get them. Ideal for architects, housing associations, residential and nursing homes and occupational therapists that build original or retro-fit solutions to enable the individual to live a fuller life.

This is a webinar format that will be 1.5 hours long offering cpd.

The event will link in Ireland and the 4 nations. There will be guest speakers and a 30 minute workshop discussing case studies then back to the group with the solutions and close. Chroma and an e-health company Safe Care will be demonstrating their integrated tech in Dial at the end of the conference.

The outcomes of the day will be an increase in knowledge and understanding of condition, solutions offered in terms of design, sensory integration tech, bio-dynamic lighting and e-health solutions and people.

Speakers

Fiona and Greg Walsh

Senior Fellows in Brain Health from the Global Brain Health Institute . Greg and Fiona co-founded a specialist evidence based architects practice (www.ddsarchitect.org) that specialises in designing inclusive environments for everyone including people living with cognitive, sensory and physical impairments. Greg and Fiona recently presented to the NI Department of Health on Inclusive Building Design ‘How we can create a more inclusive and equitable society for people living with cognitive, sensory and/or physical impairments while reducing health and social care costs?

Dr. Pamela Topping

Pamela is a Belfast based Designer who specialises in Dementia Design. Pamela completed a B.Des (Hons) Degree in 3D Design, MA MDD, PhD and is Associate Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.

Mary stobie

Mary qualified as an occupational therapist in 1980 and has spent the majority of her working life practising in the community setting. Mary has also been a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section in Housing since 1999, holding various roles with in the national executive committee including that of chairperson. She has worked as an occupational therapist within the Occupational Therapy Dementia Service for the NHSCT since 2013 .
