Overview
The Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence (JCEEI) is a collaboration between the Met Office and the University of Exeter providing the expertise, skills, and capability to fully utilise Al in order to address challenges facing society, including climate change.
The JCEEI pioneers the use of Environmental Intelligence to provide the meaningful insight needed to inform decision-making and improve risk management, leading us towards a sustainable interaction with the natural environment and delivery of Net Zero.
The theme of this year's conference is 'Beyond COP26: The Road to Net Zero'.
Join us for an exciting line-up of speakers who will showcase their work using transformative technologies to support the UK's Net Zero ambitions, as well as a session exploring opportunities to engage with, and support, the next generation of environmental and data scientists ('El Next Generation'). The Directors of the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence will be your hosts for this two day conference:
Dr Kirstine Dale - Principal Fellow for Data Sciences / Co-Director for Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence.
Professor Gavin Shaddick - Chair of Data Science and Statistics at the University of Exeter and Co-Director of the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence.
The programme will include 6 sessions – each with a range of speakers and a Q&A.
The 6 sessions will be:
• Session 1: Harnessing Transformative Technologies achieve Net Zero
• Session 2: Harnessing Open Science to achieve Net Zero
• Session 3: Harnessing Science in Practise to deliver Net Zero
• Session 4: Harnessing AI to achieve Net Zero
