About this event

This is a life changing experience, and the only scientifically and medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like.

Enter the world of a person with dementia and understand the simple changes you can make to improve the lives of people with dementia.

The experience is suitable for anyone who cares for or comes into contact with people with dementia. This could include family or carers of people with dementia, nursing staff, emergency services, retail workers, volunteers or anyone else who regularly works in our local communities.

The course will take place over a two hour period, attendees will spend the first hour in a mobile simulated environment to gain an insight into the world of people with dementia. This will be followed by a fully detailed debrief to discuss the experience and identify learning outcomes.

The experience is being coordinated by the Beaconsfield and Chepping Wye Community Board and Making Marlow Dementia Friendly, with funding from the Chepping Wycombe Parish Council and the Flackwell Heath Residents Association. It is open to anyone who lives or works in the Chepping Wycombe or Flackwell Heath parish areas. There is no charge for attendees.

There are four sessions throughout the day at Christ Church Flackwell Heath. These are at:
