About this event
The Sustainability team, supported by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, is leading the development of a Sustainability Strategy for the University. The new Strategy will encompass all aspects of sustainability (environmental, social and economic), as relevant to the University, and will be broader in scope than the current Environmental Sustainability Vision, Policy and Strategy and incorporate various non-environmental commitments.
To inform development of the Strategy, we are undertaking initial engagement with stakeholders and as part of this are running 3 online consultation sessions in January. These sessions are open to all staff and students at the University.
At these sessions, we will be exploring how the University might utilise its teaching, research and estate and operations to support a transition to sustainable communities and economies. We will also consider how this impact could be further amplified through societal engagement (i.e. with policymakers, the private sector, local communities, etc).
Details of the sessions are as follows:
Workshop #1 on the 25th January, 11.30am – 1pm. This session will focus on the University’s research.
Workshop #2 on the 27th January, 2pm – 3.30pm. This session will focus on the University estate and operations.
Workshop #3 on the 31st January, 9.30am – 11am. This session will focus on the University’s teaching and will be run in collaboration with Cambridge Zero.
We welcome your ideas and discussion at these sessions but please note that while information from this discussion can be shared, it should be anonymised.
Before attending one or more of these sessions, you may like to read our Green Paper (attached on the online event page), which sets out our initial thoughts and ideas on the Strategy, and poses some questions to invite feedback from staff and students.
Once you have registered for a workshop, you can access the webinar via the Teams link on the event page.
