About this event

Topological insulators (TIs) are a promising platform for a range of electronic and quantum devices. TIs can be integrated into nanofabricated circuits and combined with other materials such as superconductors to realize exotic effects with a wide range of potential applications.

NPL is hosting a workshop where the latest development in this exciting area will be discussed.

Participation is free of charge. The registration deadline is the 3rd of June.

Topics include

• Synthesis and growth of TI materials & materials characterisation

• TI device fabrication and characterisation

• TI device theory

• Hybrid devices where TIs are combined with other materials to realize novel devices

The workshop will include invited talks, contributed talks and a poster session.

Confirmed speakers include

Benjamin Beri University of Cambridge, UK

Martin Alexander Endres University of Basel, Germany

Malcolm Connolly Imperial College London, UK

Masaya Kataoka National Physical Laboratory, UK

Cosimo Gorini Université Paris-Saclay, CEA, CNRS, SPEC, France

There will be a maximum of 50 participants.

This workshop is being organised as part of the H2020 HiTIMe project and we acknowledge support from the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant agreement No. 766714/HiTIMe.

Abstract submission• The abstract deadline is the 27th of May.• Please submit your abstract as plain text when registering. The word limit is 300• Please indicate if you prefer a poster or contributed talk (20 min including Q&A) when submitting the form.
