Educational inequality and place are key issues facing policymakers as we try and emerge from the worst of the pandemic.
This event will examine the findings of a major new report looking at educational opportunities in 8 places in the UK who have borne the brunt of long running socio-economic changes and Covid produced by the new Centre for Levelling Up at the University of West London (UWL) and Policy Network.
The event, chaired by Professor Peter John, Vice Chancellor at the UWL, as well as featuring a presentation on the report’s findings will include a panel discussion with:
-
Justine Greening, ex Secretary of State for Education
- Kate Green, Shadow Secretary of State for Education
The new Centre for Levelling Up will be led by Professor Graeme Atherton, the lead author of this report. It will undertake policy relevant research related to levelling up and addressing inequalities associated with place and people across the UK.
Joining instructions will be sent closer to the time.
