Created as an add on course for Forest Kindergarten.

Join Dan Puplett for his introduction to woodland ecology to help you gain a deeper understanding of woodlands around you. This course will allow opportunities to increase some of your basic identification skills and provide many opportunities to ask questions on how to use woodlands for your groups in sustainable and engaging ways.

Objectives

By the end of the training the learner will:• Understand some fundamental principles of woodland ecology.• Have learnt some nature connection ‘tools’ in the form of woodland ecology-inspired activities that can be used with early years groups.• Have a greater understanding some of the safety considerations in relation to the woodland environment.• Have a greater understanding of how to protect and an enhance the conservation value of a woodland site.

What to bring

- Appropriate clothing (waterproofs- jacket and trousers, layers of clothing (merino wool recommended), warm footwear & socks. GLOVES - Camera (on phone is fine)- Notepad and a magnifying glass would be useful (but not essential).
