The theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2023 is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.
IWD 2023 will celebrate and recognize the contributions of the women and girls committed to building gender-responsive innovations and advancing innovation and digital technology. It will also provide an opportunity to highlight the role of all stakeholders in improving access to digital tools, as well as explore the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities.
The United Nations’ Observance of International Women’s Day will take place on Wednesday 8 March 2023 from 10 am – 11:30 am in the GA Hall of the UN Headquarters in New York. The event will honour technologists, innovators, entrepreneurs, gender equality activists, and women educators who are using innovation and digital technology as a catalyst to improve and transform the lives of women and girls.
The Observance will feature the Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres, the Deputy Secretary-General, Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, the President of the 77th Session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Csaba Kőrösi, the Chair of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, H.E. Ms. Mathu Joyini, and other eminent panelists.
Registration Instructions:
- Please note that the Observance is only open to UN HQ Grounds Pass holders (including temporary HQ Grounds Pass holders).
- Registration is required and does not guarantee a ticket.
- Tickets for the Observance will be distributed by UN Women to registered guests only on a first-come, first-served basis prior to the event. Information on the time, date and location of ticket distribution will be shared closer to the time.
- Your IWD registration confirmation email and UN HQ Grounds Pass will be required to collect your ticket(s).
