Kate Middleton, 38, paid a visit to Sunshine House Children and Young People’s Health and Development Centre today, to meet the Southwark Family Nurse Partnership team.

The outing was part of her research and engagement with the Early Years sector. The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a navy polkadot blouse for the visit.

Style watchers suggested on Twitter that the garment was similar to one by Equipment, which sells for £270 at Net-A-Porter.

She teamed her shirt with a pair of high-waisted trousers, which had a wide leg design, and gold earrings. Kate also wore a pair of black high heel £520 heels from Gianvito Rossi. They are the  Piper 85 suede pumps.

Kate is patron of the children’s hospital Evelina London, which delivers the FNP initiative in Southwark, London.

Kensington Palace tweeted: “At the @FNPNationalUnit, parents are partnered with a specially trained family nurse, who visits them regularly from early pregnancy until their child is two.

“The Duchess of Cambridge met the team at Sunshine House, whose work helps support young mothers.”

“The Duchess of Cambridge spoke with parents who have been through the

@FNPNationalUnit programme at @EvelinaLondon Sunshine House, to better understand how the programme has helped them and their children.”

Twitter users swooned over the Duchess. One wrote: “She is so lovely - a true representative of the monarchy.”

Another said: “Perfect Duchess. Wonderful mother. Strong advocate for children. When your husband becomes King, it will be our pleasure to call you Queen.”

Aother said: “A lovely lady fit to be Queen. I'd love to meet her and William. A 'Peoples' King and Queen.”

Kate Middleton opted for a polka dot shirt during her visit in London today

Back in December last year, the royal paid a visit to Evelina London with her husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

The Duchess had also opted for polkadots at the time.

She arrived in a green mid-length polkadot dress from L.K. Bennett.

The item featured button-up detail from the waist-up, and had a price tag of £325.

And for those looking for the same version in a different tone, it’s also available in black and white.

Prince William, 37, looked relaxed as he arrived with several buttons of his pale blue shirt undone.

The Duke wore a darker blue suit.

Last week, Kate wore a pale blue floral shirt dress during her visit to the “Back to Nature” festival, held at the RHS Garden Wisley in Woking.

The item was by Emilia Wickstead and while it has now sold out, it has a price tag of £1,635 on Net-A-Porter.

The Duchess paired the dress with a pair of pale-toned wedge heels.

She also sported a pair of gold drop earrings, which appear to have a different design to today's jewellery choice.

How did Kate Middleton become a royal?

Early life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.

She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 - now estimated to be worth £30 million.

Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.

Education

Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.

After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.

For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.

Relationship with Prince William

Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator's Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.

In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.

The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.

Wedding

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.

On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.

Kate assumed the title "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge" and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
