About me

Ms Natasha Spiteri is a consultant ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon) with a special interest in cornea and the anterior segment of the eye. She holds a private practice at Nuffield Health Chester Hospital, The Grosvenor. She is also lead cornea specialist at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Ms Spiteri graduated from Medical School in Malta in 2004. She undertook ophthalmic training in the Mersey region. After this, she spent a year of further intensive training in corneal disease in Sydney, Australia, where she gained experience in corneal transplant and other corneal surgery. Upon her return to the UK, she undertook a postgraduate diploma in cataract and refractive surgery with the University of Ulster.

She is currently College Tutor at the Countess of Chester Hospital, responsible for the coordination and delivery of local training of young ophthalmologists. She is passionate about teaching and training, and is on the training faculty of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, where she regularly participates in cataract and microsurgical training courses, including as lead trainer.

Ms Spiteri has been active in research work, with publications in various peer reviewed journals. Most recent research work has looked in newer techniques as an alternative to corneal transplant surgery.
