Sunderland to Kyiv

My name is Katarzyna Posnik and I am a founder of Sunderland For Ukraine.

Sunderland for Ukraine is working in partnership with City Space Gym at the University of Sunderland.

Many are making new year pledges for a health kick, Ukrainians in contrast just hope to make it through the winter. We would like to harness those new year's health kicks to help Ukrainians get generators for heat and electricity.

The aim is to raise funds for generators and other equipment for schools in Ukraine to help communities overcome the lack of power supply due to the war.

The idea is to challenge participants to pledge to run, cycle or walk a few Kilometres / Miles and together we will cover the distance from Sunderland to Kyiv. Each participant will have a target to raise at least £1 per Km.

Initially, during January and February 2023, we hope to raise enough money to purchase generators for 1 - 2 schools.

Any participants taking part can use City Space facilities free of charge for a week. City Space has an app that you can use to record your challenge and the distance covered.
