Man, I am on a ROLL. This is the third excellent book in a row I've read. This never happens to me!

Off the Air was hot. And angsty. And sexy. And intense. In typical LH Cosway style, she seasons the drama with her delightful brand of humor (or should I say "humour" lol!) What I love about her books is that I know going in that, no matter what, the characters and story will be unique. She has one of the most distinctive and unique voices in contemporary romance, and I AM HERE FOR IT!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, LH Cosway writes the best heroes and she is my patronus. If you haven't read the prequel novella to this one, get it now. Devour it. Pre-order this one. You're welcome.

Tonight, we ran on air.
And tomorrow, we’d do it again.
The location might change, but one thing would stay the same.
I’d never stop holding his hand.

In ”OFF THE AIR” we dive right into Callum and Leanne's tumultuous and highly toxic relationship. The novella ”AIR KISS” tells the story of how their romance began and it was a clear indication that their journey was going to be one serious angst-fest.

Cal and Leanne star in the U.K.’s top-rated reality show ”Running on Air”. From the moment they met there was an instant off the charts hot, chemistry burning between them. They ran hot too fast and early into their relationship tragedy hits them. While Cal is going through just as much pain as Leanne, he tries time and again to be there for her. Leanne, however, does everything in her power to push Cal away and to close off her heart to him. But he’s in her blood and letting go completely proves to be an impossible feat. They go through several years of a push and pull relationship.

Cal has a hot temper. He’s passionate and possessive of Leanne, but it’s clear to see how deep his love runs for her. Leanne constantly pushes him away and says hurtful things but still, he never gives up on her. I loved Cal but wished many times for him to stop being her punching bag. What happened wasn’t his fault and he needed comfort and compassion just as much as she did.

Leanne’s stubbornness is what made this story beyond angsty. She wasn’t a character that I found easy to like. It was only when she comes to the revelation of just how awful she had been treating Cal, that I was able to like her a little bit.

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 3.5
Plot: 4
Angst: 4.5
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4

”OFF THE AIR” releases on March 5th!

I love Cosway's books! I got so excited when I found out Cal and Leanne got their own book, I remember when they were introduced in Hearts on Air and there was such tension between them. Off the Air was the perfect dose of romance and angst that I needed at this time.

In a time when I have given up on many indie romance authors, Cosway and her beautiful characters and writing mean I will read anything and everything she continues to put out. And I am so beyong excited to read the rest of this series.

Leanne Simmons is a talented freerunner in London who found success when she was chosen to be on a reality show called Running on Air. Each season they tried to create bigger and better stunts. She felt alive and free when running, like she didn’t have a care in the world. She was about to leave to spend the next month filming season 4 where she was the only girl in a crew of mostly men. This included her ex Callum Davidson.

Cal and Leanne had been seeing each other in secret off and on for years until too much happened between them and things changed. They’ve broken up and gotten back together too many times to count. They shared an intense connection, but when they were together they burned bright, and always self destructed in the end. It became dysfunctional and exhausting. Their feelings had forever been tangled up in desire and pain.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Cal & Leanne are both hot-headed, and with constantly fighting and making up, there was usually drama and disaster. After too much bad publicity and scandal, management gives an ultimatum they must sign a contract stating they won’t get involved romantically while filming. Neither is willing to jeopardize their job and livelihood so they agree. They will have to keep things professional and put an end to their on/off friends-with-benefits relationship they often fall back into. They would focus on work. Then Cal offers up a bet. They’d been competitive from the moment they met and couldn’t resist the rivalry between them.

Cal was confident, jealous, possessive, forward, unpredictable, and overwhelming. The one thing Leanne forgot he was is irresistible. She forgot how tempting he was when they shared the same space. She could try to pretend she was immune to his charms, but knew he could seduce her with one look. She had unresolved feelings for him, so being near him was torture. Everything suddenly felt like it was crashing down around her, including her self control. She couldn’t let her defenses down, but his nearness corrupted her thoughts and had her fixating and obsessing over him. He was intoxicating, and one touch and she would be lost in him again. Even though she was conflicted, the more they were around one another, something started to shift between them. He was in her head and her heart, and she didn’t know how to get him out.

-When it came to Cal, I did all the things I shouldn't. I was drawn to him in a way I'd never been to anyone else.

-His fingers slid against mine, and the feel of his skin, however small, made my heart race.

-She had to feel what was between us, the tugging, drugging, falling sensation. It couldn't just be me.

-I was wild for her, and it wasn't just physical. I craved her smiles and her smart mouth, her snappy comebacks, and musical laughter.

-All I wanted was my scrappy little tomboy who gave me shit, then kissed me when no one else was watching.

Off the Air is book one in L.H. Cosway's brand new "Running on Air" series. The main events of this story take place 3 1/2 years after the free prequel novella Air Kiss. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple and can be read as a standalone. I loved this enemies to lovers romance that goes from past to present. It was sexy, emotional, and completely addictive! It's full of fabulous banter, angst, and crazy sexual tension. I fell extremely hard for Cal in this book. We get inside his head, and see a gentle softer side that will make you swoon!

L.H. Cosway does characterisation better than most and that's why I love her books. Leanne and Callum's story is fraught with the best kind of angst, emotional— torturous even— but also completely realistic. Their storyline is handled sensitively and authentically and it brought more than a few tears to my eyes. Yet, these characters also had great banter that made me laugh, and explosive chemistry that almost, and thankfully didn't, melt my kindle! It's a book of balance, providing everything I want in a romance story.
Another wonderful read from L.H. Cosway. I'm extremely excited for Michaela and James's story in book two!

4 ⭐'s

First and foremost, I'd like to say that I really enjoyed the parkour aspect of the story. I felt like the author wrote it well and it was interesting how they all played off each other.

That being said, it's a long, complicated journey between Callum and Leanne. Hopefully you read Air Kiss, the free prequel novella that tells how the two met and some developments between them. That's all enhanced upon in this book.

The prologue and start of the story has even more complications. It was really intriguing for me to figure out what in the heck happened to these two.

From that point on, we get some back story with them moving on in the present. They both have some deep hurts that have festered. Leanne just really wants to move on with her life...and move away from Callum. Luckily, Callum's not that easy to move on from.

I did love reading about Leanne waking up and recognizing what her feelings are and what was really bothering her. AND...I really loved how Callum handled the way things proceeded.

I enjoyed getting to know the rest of the group. Trevor already has a novella and book out in the Hearts series, One Epic Night and Hearts on Air but there's three more stories coming out in this series for the rest of them so far.

Overall, I am not a fan of this book. The reason why I am giving this book 3 stars is due to the super hot cover which is sizzle my computer screen while I am typing the review and Calleb. The rest, I want to throw the book to a wall.

I especially dislike Leanne. She is the most bitchy, needy heroine I ever encounter. She and Calleb has this sizzling romance. Then some tragic circumstance, their relationship tears them apart. Then now they have to film a real life TV and they not allowed to have romantic relationship (which I think the author done a poor job to justify this). Leanne, on 85% of this book done a very bitchy attitude pushing Calleb away. While Calleb done nothing wrong but trying to comfort her and try to reconnect with her again. The author done a poor job to explain why Leanne pushing Calleb away aside from Leanne is a stupid insensitive bitch.

The steamy part is only a small part of this book so it does not help to highlight the romance between Calleb and Leanne. I also do not understand why Calleb needs to come back to Leanne after she treated him so badly.

Happy book birthday!!

L.H. Cosway’s first volume in her new “Running on Air” series is a refreshing, addictive and unique story that blew me away.

Leanne Simmons has no choice but to fulfill her contract, film her free running reality TV show with the rest of the crew which includes her ex while maintaining a strictly platonic relationship with him. It shouldn’t be difficult to accomplish since she can Callum have gone from enemies to lovers and back to enemies, but their intense attraction doesn’t care about any of this. Can they overcome their past to forge a new future together?

Cosway has penned a sexy, angsty, intense, beautiful love story that is all about two characters finding their way out of the shadows of the past to cling to the light they shine for each other. There is something very satisfying in romance when two characters grow through the power of their love.

While I was a bit on the fence regarding Cal when I met him in Hearts on Air (books #6 of the Hearts series), I shouldn’t have worries. L.H. Cosway knows how to write heroes. The intensity with which Callum loves Leanne shines through being both sexy and romantic. A lethal combination.

Leanne on the other hand is fierce, strong and not easily intimidated. But in overcoming her grief she is a bit immature and stubborn, both of which are natural for her age.

I could not put this book down. From the raw and impactful prologue to the spectacular happy ending, I was transfixed by the romance, the scenery which was depicted with vibrancy, the stunts where described in way I could absolutely picture them and becoming a fan of the show myself. The entire group of characters were all charming, I can’t wait to read the next books.

Off the Air is book #1 of the Running on Air contemporary romance series by L.H. Cosway. It is a standalone, second chance romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

I absolutely loved this. Delicious tension and a good dose of angst kept me engrossed.

Leanne and Cal are both so vulnerable, prickly with each other and hurt at the start, it made for a truly emotional read. They still have that spark though and it's exactly that belly curling tingle that kept me engrossed in their story.

It's not all glum and angst though, the banter is witty and I loved spending more time with the rest of the freerunning crew again.

And yes, I cannot lie, I'm a complete sucker for a little forbidden, secret romance so that was me happy.

Complete story but part of a series featuring recurring characters. Highly recommended.

**Thanks to the author for my arc.**

Oh man! All that sexual tension and heavy push and pull between Callum and Leanne in Air Kiss? That mixing bowl of angsty drama exploded in a shower of grief, longing, tenderness, and yes, unbelievably prickly chemistry! Leanne and Callum were so into each other in a way that I felt was unhealthy and almost compulsive really, yet oddly enough when everything comes out in the wash? Their behavior made sense in a twisted sort of way. Maturity can be a real growing pain, as Leanne and Callum both discover in heartbreaking ways, but it can also provide much needed, eye opening perspectives too.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5- Always in our Heart Stars!"

I love L.H. Cosway's books.
She always writes the most interesting characters with the most unique storylines.
Off the Air is an amazing story that focuses on a group of people who star on a parkour TV reality show called "Running on Air"

I have to admit I was intrigued with Callum and Leanne when I first met them in Hearts on Air.

Callum and Leanne's story was SO worth the wait.
This is a story of heartache, grief, forgiveness, and love.

photo off the air teaser 1.jpg

These characters are strong and a little messed up, but throughout the book, they learn to grow, mature and finally forgive themselves for things that were out of their control.

 photo FB_IMG_1547755894861.jpg

I loved that there was a real struggle between the protagonists, that they had to fight to get what they wanted and to trust each other with their battered, broken hearts.

I LOVED Callum so hard in this book!
He became the man Leanne needed him to be, and he saw through the wall she erected to protect her heart.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book

What do we know about parkour or freerunners? I know only that I envy their capabilities to fly like birds and run like panthers. LOL
Leanne and Cal forming a part of parkour friends. They had a lot of luck and got a TV show for some seasons.
I'm reluctant to read second chance love story but this one picked my interest, it's third/forth chance story. :P

Sexual energy between MCs was so hot! I loved their banter.
In “Air Kiss” I hated Cal, he was totally an asshole.
But I warmed up to him in “Off the Air”.
I liked the way he wanted to become better person, more calm and controlled. He agreed that his spirit animal was a Grizzly Bear, "first acting thinking later". :P

He was such a caring son, he wanted provide better life for his mom, and he got it for her. I loved this about him! Callum was a chaser, really good chaser and seducer. Yummy! His tactics totally worked out for me.
Tragedy pulled Cal and Leanne apart. They were young, they didn't know how to deal with this. I didn't like how they both tried to hurt each other.
Sometimes I wanted to kick Leanne, she seemed too selfish and too childish for me. And her drinking habits.... Girl, you work out several hours every day!! It's not possible to train like this after drinking too much alcohol!
It's a very engaging book, total page turner.
Safe with exception. There are triggers.

Quotes:
"Why do you trust me, Leanne?” She let out the sexiest frustrated little growl. “I…I trust you because I never see you look at other women. And I trust you because you’re always honest, even if it hurts my feelings."

“But I refused to let this be the end of us. I just needed to make amends. No, I needed to change, grow up, be a mature adult. It was simple yet profound. I couldn’t just keep telling Leanne we should be together. I needed to show her why we should be together. And the only way to do that was through my own actions and behavior. Behavior that didn’t involve punching smug actors in the face when they tried to come at me.”

You said you made the bet with me because you planned to lose. You wanted to show me you’d give up any victory to prove that I was more important.” “You are more important.” Cal’s voice was gruff.”

Me, whenever a new LH Cosway book lands on my Kindle:

description

I always try to savor LH Cosway's words, because I love them so much, but I just can't stop myself from devouring her books. Like Off the Air, which I finished in ONE DAY!

I've been waiting for Callum and Leanne's novel since they were first introduced, and I was not disappointed. Theirs is definitely one of the more drama-heavy romances Cosway has written (in my opinion), but she was able to portray it in such a way that it never felt like too much.

This author has such an amazing talent for taking seemingly average characters and making them extraordinary. Her stories are unique without being over-the-top or unrealistic. She is the very definition of a unicorn author and this story proves why! She took some of the tropes/themes I typically shy away from (second chance romance, reality TV) and made me crave them!

And once again, Cosway has tortured us with all these amazing secondary characters and their potential stories... I honestly can't wait for more from this series!

I am a really big fan of L.H Cosway’s work. I like the way she drafts her stories, the great characters she brings to life and the fact that every story has an individual element. The stories are not alike and I find great pleasure of reading each and one of them.

“The Hearts” series is one of my all-time favorites and every new book is a delight. This is why I was so excited so enter L.H’s ARC group, because it means I can read it before everyone else and enjoy it with extra time. A spin-off of this series introduces new characters which were presented to us in Trev’s story, leaving us readers with the opportunity to read a new series “Running on Air”.

“Off the Air” is the first book dedicated to Leanne Simmons and Callum Davidson. Those who read “Hearts on Air” know bits and pieces about their relationship and are aware of how complicated it looks like. Complicated is about to get a lot more complicated in this book because it gives us the full picture, everything that happened in their on and off romance and why they seem to love each other but in the same time rip their heads off.

Filming a reality show has advantages but it can kill any romance because a lot of factors are involved. The media, the cameras that are always on to you, the pressure of being the best can influence certain persons and that is when things become crazy. Leanne and Callum were united by their love for parkour because they cherished their freedom and the feelings this sport gave them. This was their starting point and from now on their relationship had ups and downs. They lived beautiful moments but also extremely sad ones which they were unable to surpass. I don’t know exactly who was to blame here, but heartache separated them and sent them in different directions. Nevertheless, they had a job to do and they had to stay together while being apart.

To start this review, I would like to say that my loyalty lies with Callum. I loved him, but I also considered him an enigma, a very complicated person. It took me some time to understand him, but in the end, the effort was worth it. He really tried and from my POV, the effort was noticeable, or at least I’ve felt it. His relationship with Leanne even if being very complicated, was genuine from the beginning and he wanted to be with her every step of the way. He clearly had issues which made Leanne feel unstable and without control, but I believe she needed such a man to balance her, to be her wild “other half” and show her another side of life.

Leanne was fearful and although I understood her motives, I wanted her to be more open, to communicate more and not run everytime. Even if she realized her mistake by 75% of the book, for me a major part of the damage was made because she kept pushing Callum away and pissing me off in the process. Again, I loved Callum and his wild side. He was funny, adventurous, with a really soft side. He had moments when I was “of, boy”, but he was funny and vulnerable at the same time as being a total badass. Don’t rush to conclusions, Oliver is first on my list, but I fancied Callum a looot.

The book was a very relaxing experience, a story of 2 people who find each other in different moments in life but can’t seem to make it forever. They are united by tragedy but are always forced to stay separated, even if their hearts are telling them otherwise. We should have to see when will be the moment for their forever and just keep our fingers crossed for a HEA.

First off: this cover is gorgeous.

I feel like I always start off my reviews for this author by saying this but here I go anyway: I love her writing. There's something about it that is just so easy and addictive. Even if a book isn't my favorite, I still end up enjoying it and not regretting reading it at all.

Leanne and Callum are two characters that we first meet in a different series of her and I was intrigued by them from the start. And while I found their actual love story to be a bit dramatic and kind of inconsistent to everything we'd been told about them previously, I still really enjoyed it.

They are both characters that are flawed but very much human. I like that we really see them fight to be their better selves and that by the end they aren't healed and perfect. I also really enjoy the rest of the cast of characters. There's some potential set up for future books and I've got to say I'm a little uncertain and hesitant for some but I'm also kind of curious to see how she will pull it off.

I don't really want to say much about this book in terms of plot other than this is a second chance romance and that if you want some background on the characters and this world I'd recommend reading "Hearts on Air" and the free novella about Callum and Leanne titled, "Air Kiss". I think this can be read as a standalone but I feel you'd be missing out if you didn't really know the history and full dynamic between the gang.

While this wasn't my absolute favorite by the author, it was still a win for me and I think a lot of readers will love this book very much. I definitely recommend this book to fans of NA and romance books and if you like books that have great group dynamics.

While it has been quite a few moons since reading Hearts on Air, I remember wanting to spend more time with the characters and see where their lives would lead. So, when the spinoff was announced, I was all in ~ especially because Callum and Leanne were going to be leading things off and I knew it was going to one hell of a ride and I was not disappointed! It was all kinds of emotional ~ it was like a ping pong game on crack, one moment I felt this way and then the next I was on the opposite end of the spectrum ~ it was crazyness, but so worth every moment in the end.

Callum and Leanne. I loved these two, I did. They both have huge hearts ~ even if it is apparent to the naked eye ~ and the sweet, smexy and snarky was on point. But the frustration with these two was also real. I swear one moment I was #TeamCallum, in the next breath I was #TeamLeanne and then there were moments where I was neither because they were both driving me batshitcrazy (the whole acting like unruly toddlers thing was real with these two...OH. SO. REAL) BUT (and there is always a BUT) there was that spark, that chemistry between them that had me wanting to see them working their numerous issues and getting the HEA they really did deserve and though it was something of an arduous process, it was all worth it in the end.

Regardless of, or maybe because of, all the emotional upheaval I ended up really enjoying this book. The writing was engaging and I really liked how their story was told. It worked to give a well rounded picture of who Leanne and Callum really were. And as always, I do love me well written secondary characters, and there are a bunch here that I want to get to know a lot better (and one I hope gets kicked off the island) So bring on the rest of the series!!

3 1/2 stars. I am a fan of L.H. Cosway's work. Her books usually evoke such strong feelings in me. Unfortunately, I didn't get great ones from this book. I had a hard time with the contract Leanne and Cal had to sign. It offended me on so many levels. When the incident that precipitated this happened, they weren't even together: hadn't even been together for a year. Having them sign something so ridiculous didn't make sense. I also didn't really jive with Cal and Leanne's dynamic. She was so mean to him and the whole antagonistic game playing gives me anxiety.
I will say that Leanne does have some good character development and realized how awful she was to him. I just wish it had been sooner in the story.

4 1/2 "never forgotten" stars

Let me start of by saying that very few authors can write an alpha lead the way L.H. Cosway can. She has the best sexy talking men who can literally make their woman melt without taking off one stitch of her clothing. I'm just saying...they are hot!

If you haven't read the prequel, Air Kiss, I highly recommend you read that first. It's a quick little novella and it gives you vital insight into the history of Leanne and Callum's relationship. That said, Leanne and Callum are that couple. You know the one... the volatile relationship where there is so much tension you could cut it with a knife. It's been so bad in the past that they are forced to sign a new contract for their reality show that clearly states they won't have any romantic involvement for a year or they will be fired. This of course leads Callum to making a "bet" with Leanne because that's just what they do. At the end of the day they are always competitors.

The book goes back and forth from past to present so you get an understanding for not only how bad things have been between Leanne and Callum but also how special and good they were. Unfortunately, they experienced a difficult loss at young age and have not dealt with it very well. Their emotional pain was palpable - -very real and relatable. As the events in the book progress, they both get a better understanding for how the other is feeling. In particular, Leanne finally starts to understand Callum. In the past, she is so caught up in her own misery, she never considered how things truly affected him. As they both grow and mature, they can find their way to a more solid and lasting love.

The author has done an outstanding job in helping the reader to connect with all of the characters. I absolutely loved them...except for the ones you're supposed to hate of course. I can't wait to read the other books in the series to see what L.H. Cosway has in store for the rest of the group.

"...because being hated by you felt better than being loved by anyone else."

"How can it hurt this much to lose something you didn't even know you had?"

"I think all cities have their own soul."

I fell in love with Callum's tattoos and then fallen even harder with him and his story. Loved how he turned himself around to win Leanne back. I thought I'd be turned off by their possibly "Toxic Relationship"! So glad I was wrong! His best scene was the recorded of his personal thought that finally won Leanne's heart and soul! L.H. Cosway sure could create an amazing hero!

I could feel Leanne's excruciating pain of her loss, so I got her hot and cold behavior toward Callum. Here's when I fell in love with Leanne too; "If you had been born, I would've named you Sirrah, a star that's brighter than the sun." A beautiful love story!

Oh, y'all. This series is going to be fun!

And I don't mean that in any sort of lighthearted way, but rather in an addictive, drama-filled, emotional kind of way. I mean, this story had its share of lighter moments - mostly in the interactions of the group as a whole - the overall tone was pretty heavy. Callum and Leanne were riddled with issues - big issues, serious issues, heartbreaking issues - and I struggled with that sometimes.

Leanne, in particular, took me along time to warm up to. She was pretty closed off in a way that kept me feeling like I was outside of the story looking in on it, rather than a part of the story with my heart fully on board. I wanted to love her the way Callum loved her, but that wasn't always the case. Sometimes I wanted to give her a good shake and a knock on the head. But in the end, she won me over. There was softness under all that hardness, and it was a little hard fought to get to, but it was completely worth it!

By the time I hit the second half of the book, my heart was all-in. Most of that due to Callum. Lord Almighty but I loved Callum. Steadfast, loyal, and intense - he drew me in when Leanne pushed me out. My heart attached itself to him right out the gate, and it hurt with him for the majority of this story. I loved the way he loved Leanne (even when I wasn't sure she deserved it), and I loved to see his growth throughout the storyline as he owned his mistakes, his role in all their troubles, and made a sincere effort to be better. These two had a very rocky road, and I think that just made their ending so much sweeter.

Because it was sweet. The ending was fantastic, full of tummy flutters and giant happy smiles. And the set-up for the series was fantastic. I'm already intrigued, drawn in by Leanne and Callum's castmates, and eager to get inside their heads and hearts. This was a solid start of a new series and I'm definitely excited for more! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

L.H. Cosway, writes the best angst filled humorous off centered sexy love stories out there.

Oh my heart ! It got such a workout, from the first chapter till the last word. This story had so many feels. I felt broken, healed, tattered, elated, hopeful, hopeless, and I loved it all. The world was so unique as were the characters. The two main characters were oil and water, mixed with fire and ice. Their intensity was off the charts. Covering years of time the characters develop and mature, so naturally. I couldn't put it down, I took half a day off work just to finish it.

I really want to see where James and Neil go in this world. I have my fingers crossed for a book on them.**Read the prequel to this (Air Kiss), you don't want to miss how this all started.

I was given an advanced copy of this book for and honest review no strings attached.

Holy Hell!! Did you see that cover dude?! I zoom that pic in when my husband isn't looking! YUMMO!!!

Story?! YUMMO!!!

Smouldering undercurrents of sexual tension paired with a trauma that link the two main characters together regardless of their predicament. This was a really beautiful read where I could not do other than love the asshole-ness of the hero and the resistance of the heroine.

If you want to really dig this book however, i would definitely read the previous books of the series to get a glimpse of the tension between these two. I remember thinking how much i could not wait to read their story, and it certainly did not disappoint.

Cosway creates fantastic worlds and people that are always unique and well worth reading. I never turn my nose up at her books. Regardless of my reviews, her writing and creativity and original plots are always above par.

Hero celibate during separation & since meeting the heroine yay!

I love Cal, he was such a perfect and dreamy hero. I was swooning over how much he loved Leanne.

So basically, the story is about a group that Do parkour together and end up on a reality show about it. Cal and Leanne start off a little rough when they first meet and Cal comes off like a bit of a douche at first. But then when you read the story from his POV you know how much he’s really into LeeAnn. He’s obsessed with her and from the moment they meet, he only ever has eyes for her.

You find out That a few months after they start hooking up something sad happens that causes them to break up. The book does mention that for the next three years their relationship is on and off But I think the thing that was lacking for me was really understanding why they kept breaking up. The author does mention that they had a really to mulcher us relationship and they argued a lot but she never really shows it to you. You get a few instances of flashbacks where they’re not together and grit under each others skins, but that’s it. I feel like I never really understood why they kept breaking up on and off throughout three years. It mentions that it was because their relationship is toxic but it doesn’t really do a good job of showing you how or why. But didn’t bother me too much but I felt like there could’ve been a little less focus on their adventures and the show a little more focus or flashbacks of the actual reasons why they kept fighting.

Throughout pretty much most of the book Cal is trying to show Leanne how much he’s changed and not the same jealous and hot headed guy anymore. He does everything he can to prove to her how much he’s matured in the last three years so she’ll give him a chance again.

I could definitely use a sequel to this couple though. It took a long time for them to get back together and so I really want more of them as a couple.

Book is safe. It explicitly states he

Now I do know I won’t be touching James & Michaelas book.

A great start to this spin off series from Hearts of Air. The storyline follows a group of adrenaline chasers, who have signed up to a reality TV show about parkour; Running on Air.

Leanne Simmons is a tomboy of sorts. She’s always favoured the active lifestyle, and found free running encompased the adrenaline chase she thrived on. Having been invited to run with an established foursome, her and her best mate Paul, earned themselves a contract on the TV show too.

Having already been given the background to Leanne and Callum’s tumultuous relationship, we are thrust into their lives whilst they head out to film the next season. Relayed in current and past times, their dysfunctional connections are given a bit of context.

One of the many things LH is so good at, is bringing us such a wide variety of unique characters, and Leanne and Callum don’t disappoint.

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy the environment this story was set in, but LH ensured I was easily invested. She remains one of my autobuy authors, and Ms Cosway again proves she is a Queen of words.

This was a second chance romance that delivered ALL the angst and satisfied my slow burn loving soul!

"We were fire and fire"

Callum and Leanne were such an intense couple. From the moment they met, there was an intense attraction but they were both such stubborn and strong headed people. They fought as hard as they loved. This book transitions a bit from the past to the present and over the years these two engage in an on-again, off-again relationship that had me twisted into an emotional ball of mess.

If you love cocky and arrogant tattooed bad boys then Callum will be a favorite! He and Leanne are both on a reality show where they showcase their skills in parkour, free running and urban exploration. Leanne is the ultimate tomboy and I loved her so much! She was sassy and fiesty and didn't care about impressinging others. I think I loved their heated arguments as much as their lovemaking. Either way the chemistry was off the charts!

I loved how both chracters matured over the course of this book. Callum started off as selfish and hot headed and over time he made the decision to turn over a new leaf. His attempt to be a better man for Leanne was so endearing. Their path was certainly rocky but I loved the angst, the longing, the sexual frustration and all the drama they went through to find their HEA!!!

I am in love with all the seondary characters in this book and I cannot wait for the other books in the series. I loved the dynamic of their friendship and also their dynamic as a team as they praticed free running. It really is such a fascinating discipline that I love to watch as well as now read about.

This was an amazing second chance (or probably third or fourth chance) romance with flawed but loveable characters that completely captured my heart. I felt put through the wringer with all the angst but when these two finally got their act together, it gave me all the sweetest, heartwarming FEELS!

I really loved Off the Air!
Initially I didn’t think I’d enjoy these two lead characters (based on previous book where they appeared), but I’m glad I was mistaken.
Leanne and Cal are both stubborn and ambitious, but with time they grow on you.
I could feel the heartache and the loss. Made me cry a little bit too.

Also the fact the story is partly based in South Africa (which I very much am in love it) brought back all the amazing memories for me! Including the stargazing!
There’s nothing like South African sky!

Thanks Lorraine for another beautiful read!

I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Sparks have been flying between Callum and Leanne from the since the beginning. Their relationship has been fiery and passionate and characterised by dizzying highs and soul crushing lows. Which, as TV reality stars in a show about parkour, has been captured on camera. But, after a scandal that took things too far, they've been told to cool any romantic relationship or they will be booted off the show. But can they resist one another?

Off the Air is the first in the Running on Air series, which is a spin off of the Hearts series and follows the stars of a TV reality show showcasing their parkour skills. In the final book of the Hearts series Hearts on Air we are first introduced to the main characters in this book and it gives you the story of Trevor the leader of the group. As a massive fan of the Hearts series I was pumped to hear about this series, I loved all the characters in Hearts on Air and did a gleeful little dance when I realised I would be getting books about each of them. So I was plenty excited to start reading Off the Air and see more of the drama unfold between the sexy tattooed up hot head Cal and the strong and independent Leanne.

First of all, trigger warning, this book has the awful trauma of a character (Leanne) suffering a miscarriage. It was a tragic way to open the book and immediately warned me that this book was going to take me on an emotional journey. I was correct, although the book skipped years ahead so we didn't experience the immediate aftermath, both Leanne and Cal are deeply affected by the miscarriage. Their shared trauma both brought them together and ripped them apart. Because of their wariness though, their love story could feel frustrating, but their attraction and affection for one another was bursting out of the page.

But, although the romance was full of angst and drama, Cosway didn't keep it dark. This was mainly due to the characters surrounding them, especially other members of the team. It was great to see glimpses in to the other possible romances and the personalities of the other characters. In fact, I found that I was probably more interested in the characters surrounding Cal and Leanne then I was Cal and Leanne.

Which brings me why I can't quite rate this book 4 stars. I liked it, but I didn't find the conflict between Cal and Leanne that compelling. I want to caveat this with me not being a fan of angst driven plots, so this type of book isn't really my jam. But, at the point of the story we were in, although there was plenty of longing looks and internal agonising, there wasn't a whole lot else going on. It just didn't sustain my interest. I wanted them to get together, I could understand why was holding them back. But, I didn't find it as interesting as the possible romance going on elsewhere.

I enjoyed this book, Cosway is a fantastic writer and it shines through. The story line itself wasn't quite what I would usually pick up, but it has kept me intrigued to see what happens next in this series and which character will be next in line for their HEA.

Reading Off the Air brought me into an amazing state of mind. Its whirlwind of emotions kept me awake and breathless.
It's hard to write a unique second chance love story when there are so many already but L.H. Cosway did it flawlessly as she always does. Okay, yeah, I am fangirling here. Shut up!
All characters were captured in a way that made you feel you were one of them, that you were with them when bad stuff happened in their past, that you were the one they confided in...
I was so rooting was Leanne and Callum. But at the beginning—and let's be honest it's all L.H. Cosway's fault—I was conflicted between wanting Leanne to give in and be with Callum and wanting her to stick to her guns and make him pay.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
