Landing a writing gig in Hollywood was just as difficult as becoming an actor, and something Claire Becker had learned the hard way.

Sure, she didn’t have to conform to ridiculous beauty standards and give up her love for raw cookie dough, but the sting of rejection burned all the same. The only things that kept her sane were her two amazing roommates and her guilty pleasure—writing fan-fiction.

Getting lost in her own world, she’d forget that she had yet to land her dream job, and instead spent time with her dream man—Nick Larsson. Well, at least in the literary sense. Too bad he wasn’t aware or an active participant—her fictional love life, outstanding.

Tall, good-looking and sexy beyond comprehension, Nick Larsson not only had a famous last name—and four equally smoldering brothers—but was talented beyond belief. A star on the rise with a critically acclaimed series, his body and face were what fantasy scripts—and dreams—were made of. Made for some pretty steamy writing opportunities too.

And yes, it was probably “wrong” for Claire to objectify him, but it wasn’t like anyone knew about it. Just her, and her two amazing, supportive roommates.
Or at least they were amazing and supportive, and bound to be missed after Claire killed them.

In a moment of unexplained insanity, one of them —or both, each as bad as the other—sent her latest installments to the man himself.

Cue panic of epic proportions.

All Claire needed to do was sneak into his apartment and retrieve the misappropriated story before Nick, or anyone else, read it and mistook her for a creepy stalker. Although, breaking and entering probably wouldn’t convince anyone to the contrary either.

Claire was going to get the best material of her life, or end up with a restraining order. Either way, the story was getting a hell of lot more interesting.

This book was so entertaining! I laughed and swooned.

Claire and Nick are so great together. I loved Claire so much! She's hilarious and her inner dialogues made me laugh so hard! Her friends are amazing too. I wish I could be part of their gang. Nick is sexy, smart and sweet. He also has a dominant streak that I adored.

This is a great example of what a romantic comedy should be. I had so much fun while reading this book but it's not only laughs and giggles. It also has enough depth for me to connect with the MC's and their story. I was rooting for them all along.

This is another great book by T. Gephart. I highly recommend reading this series if you are looking for well written, fast paced romantic comedies.

I started this RomCom thinking that maybe it was a little too ‘Com’.. not enough ‘Rom’... but boy was I wrong! ...it was just perfect! #1 Muse is a well written story that blends laugh out loud silliness with swoony romance that entertains while pulling you in.

”It was like he had special powers, the ability to make women swoon into a puddle within seconds.”

Claire Becker is a screenwriter struggling with her writing, although she has been secretly penning fan-fic staring herself and her crush, actor Nick Larsson.

“I leaned in and whispered. “Sometimes—not a lot but—I have a tendency to be a little crazy.”
He threw his head back and laughed. “I was kind of counting on it. I like your kind of crazy. It keeps me on my toes.”

I’m fairly new to this author and her writing, and I’m loving how she gives us a story that seems fun on the surface but has so much depth and heart. I will certainly be adding more books in this series and by this author to my TBR!

This one is going straight into my 2018 Favourites!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it!!!

I have really enjoyed all the books in this #1 series but this one is by far my favourite. I have a serious girl crush on Claire. Her honesty, her humour, her self deprecating internal dialogue - everything about her made me just adore her. I LOL'd a lot in this one. I could totally see us being best friends. Then we have Nick - well he's BBF Hall of Fame kind of awesome. He's sexy, witty and super sweet with just the right dash of dirty. T Gephart always writes the best male characters, they're not your full blown alpha aholes, they're always more & I love her for it!

This is a well written, fast paced rom-com and it's the kind of book you get sad as the % read goes up cause you know you don't have long left with these characters & you can't get enough. It's that good.

Add in hilarious secondary characters & you've got the kind of book I love. If you're looking for a light-hearted read that will leave you smiling when you finish then this one's definitely for you. Cannot recommend it enough.

I received an arc of this book.

I’ll be honest here, it might be me (again). Even simply that I have high expectations with the Larsson brothers series. But here is what made me drop this so early:

[spoilers]

- Claire was annoyingly insecure about herself and her work, it got more annoying the more people would remark about her being stunning and talented
- there was no build-up whatsoever in her relationship with Nick, it was total insta-lust/love. Their brief encounter 5 years prior and the fact he’d meant to ask her out in no way justify that. Also because: why didn’t he track her down if he was interested?!
- aside from their being both stunning and mildly good flirtatious banter there was no chemistry to speak of between Claire and Nick. None that was detectable from the writing anyway
- there was some pretty lame politically-correctedness regarding consent sprinkled around for a book where the two protagonista jump each other’s bones within hours of first meeting
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Fun, sassy, witty writing in this rom-com that is sure to put a smile on your face 😊

T Gephart knows what she's doing when it comes to romantic comedy. Her characters are engaging, entertaining and all-around fun. Claire is hilarious in her shenanigans while she tries making a name for herself in the ruthless movie industry. Her inner monologue will surely have you snort-laughing, at the same time you'll be wishing she was your best friend.

Nick is not your typical Hollywood hottie. He's humble, kind and quite frankly doesn't take himself too seriously. It's hard not to fall in love with his swoony, sexy talk and beautiful smile. What you see is what you get with Nick and his agenda isn't self-serving. He's a family guy and watching him engage with his caring family makes you love him more and more.

If you're looking for a great, lighthearted read with fun characters, great banter and some sexy times that will have your heart racing, check out #1 Muse and the rest of this series.

There’s no better story to tell than your own, especially if it’s fan-fiction, and there’s a gorgeous, intelligent, and talented man written into said plot line - one who allows you to experience all the sexy goodness in a whirlwind romance…of the fictional variety. And, even though Claire Becker may not have made it in show business yet, she sure has one hell of an imagination and quite the storytelling prowess, so much so, that her roommate takes it upon herself to send Claire’s muse - the real man who plays Claire’s male lead in her stories, Nick Larsson, a few of Claire’s most recent chapters to show Nick exactly how big a role he plays as the star of Claire’s ambitious fantasies.

I couldn’t get enough of Claire’s internal musings and diatribes; she definitely has a flair for the dramatic and that shows in both her personal and fictional life, but she’s also creative, passionate, and honest, and it’s those qualities that make her an endearing character - one who readers can’t help but like due to her quirkiness, her ramblings, and her less than stellar plan to retrieve her manuscript before a certain heartthrob gets his hands on them.

Larsson brother 5…just when readers thought T. Gephart couldn’t give them another swoon worthy Larsson male, Nick’s story is told and everything that his brothers were, he is as well, and its his intelligence, wit, and good nature that stands out and makes him an atypical star, which is also why Claire is so drawn to him and uses him as her fictional hero. I loved how authentic Nick seemed…he had a good head on his shoulders and he’s not an arrogant actor who believes everyone should bow down to him, which will also go a long way with characters and readers alike.

I have to say, though, that I do wish readers were privy to Nick’s perspective; I’ve found lately that I prefer to get inside the heads of both the heroine and the hero because it offers a complete picture of what these two are up against when it comes to their self recriminations and the real reasons behind their words and their actions. Despite my desire for Nick’s point of view, not having didn’t take away from my appreciation of this funny, steamy, and entertaining story; I just feel like it would have added further insight into why and how everything played out between him and Claire the way that they did.

I’ve been on a good run of romantic comedies lately and #1 Muse is in that collection because Claire and Nick’s book has the perfect mix of humor, sass, steam, and supporting characters who make it a worthwhile read.

Probably the only criticism would be that there was only one point of view, Claire's. Claire was talented but in her view she was very insecure. So when Nick did in fact fall for her we wondered why.....I did anyway. Thank goodness for Luke and Scully to have as friends that encouraged her through life.

The story was indeed inter workings of Hollywood. Claire was a screen writer and her project did not at all go as planned.

Nick was nice but one dimensional because of that POV thing.

I couldn't put #1 Muse down! It had some serious #1 Crush vibes, it took me way back to beginning of the series, with it's quirky love you from afar comedy.

Nick and Claire's story is epic, what starts as an easy breaking and entering job to get back her manuscript turns complicated. I can't explain to you how much I loved this #1 Muse, both characters had their quirks, but the intensity and judgement free love and passion they had for each was a breath of fresh air.

Prior to reading #1 Muse I was in a major book slump, but not with this one no way. I was reading every single free moment I had. I was trying to hide my snickering at work and laughed so hard to myself that I had tears in my eyes.

Claire's best friends, along with Nick's family and friend's we have already met really make this story shine, they make this story possible. If it wasn't for them Nick and Claire never stood a chance.

If need a laugh, some crazy antics and a swoony hero #1 Muse is phenomenal and at the top of my go to romantic comedy list!

#1 Muse knocked my socks off! Not only is it a funny, romantic comedy, it is a well written and fast paced story. It even held a few twists and surprises that had this seasoned reader's heart jumping.

When I say that this book is a romantic comedy, I mean that it is side splitting, laugh out loud funny. But not in that ridiculous, over the top unbelievable way. The pop culture references, witty dialogue, internal musings and relatable situations make #1 Muse my favourite of the series.

Ms Gephart is known for writing strong, quirky heroines and Claire doesn't disappoint. She is sassy, slightly crazy, smart and big hearted. Claire is such a relatable character. I was laughing along with her antics, crying with her disappointments and cheering her on when she stood up and took charge of her life. I love how this book stays true to it's characters. Yes it is fiction, but when reading about Claire, her friends, her career and her relationships I felt I was with her. I felt the decisions she made, the words she voiced and her actions were true to the character.

Let's not forget about Nick. He is definitely unforgettable! Like his brothers before him, Nick is more than a pretty boy Hollywood success story. A perfect combination of sexy, smart, caring and dominent. He is pretty much the perfect man, yet he still manages to make mistakes and I loved him even more for it.

If you haven't read any of the #1 series by T.Gephart you have been missing out! Never fear though, you can binge read the first 4 interconnected standalones and catch up on this hilarious, heartwarming series.

Even though I knew she was going to break into this man’s house, I didn’t think being inside her head would be this creepy. She literally sounds psychotic. If someone you didn’t know broke into your house like that and you could hear the thoughts she was having, I’m positive you would shoot this person and claim self-defense. She is certifiably insane as far as I’m concerned.

Well it’s back with the Larssons and its Nick’s turn to fall in the love.
Claire is a screenwriter who had been going through a bad patch, with inspiration nowhere to be seen she uses her secret crush Nick Larsson the star of a popular television series.
Nick Larsson has always been someone that she has a crush on. So to get back in writing groove she has used Nick as her muse. So for fun she has been writing a series  about a couple called  Nick and Blaire and their exploits. Her roommates love it so much she often prints them a copy each.
This is a fun read with plenty of characters I really loved, not just Nick and Claire. Claire’s roommates had me in stitches.
This was a quick fun read with plenty of hot sex thrown in. I really fell for Nick he was a great bloke, I enjoyed every minute, sometimes you just need something to lighten your mood and #1 Muse certainly did that for me. I have loved this series so it was nice to catch up with some of the other Larssons in this book. Great read lots of fun.

This series is awesome!! I laughed so much with this one and it was much needed at the time. I have loved all of the Larsson men each for a different reason but Nick is different than his brothers.

Nick with his sexy ways and Claire with her quirky life make a great pair once they are able to clear the air and develope a real relationship that some only dream of. I mean who wouldn't want to meet their Muse of their writing and fall in love!!

Again I can't say how much I have loved this series and they will all be definate re-reads in the future.

Disappointed

First, I need to get this rant out, apartment or house?! They all started in an apartment, Claire's had stairs. Then they were in curbside houses?!

I wasn't feeling this Insta-love relationship. Claire was a stalker, obsessed in a seriously questionable way with Nick. We were supposed to believe that he fell in love with someone like that?
They spent 95% of their time having sex, it became so repetitive that I skimmed over half of nearly every chapter. Aside from that we got to read, repeatedly, how Claire was insecure but also the best writer ever!
This was a real miss for the series.

Claire Becker has had a crush on Nick Larsson from the moment she met him briefly. Claire is trying to find her next job as a writer, but in her spare time she writes about her muse, Nick. When her story ends up in Nick's hand, Claire goes beyond no limits to get it back putting her face to face with Nick. Nick and Claire come together but can an actor and a writer come together and stay together.

This was a bit angsty for me, I liked Claire but at times it she needed a back bone. This was quickly paced and filled with humor.

I love Claire but when she is talking to herself it is the most hilarious thing ever. I also loved her roommates. You will so be wishing that you were in their inner circle or that you were moving into a room in their house. Then there is the dreamy Nick and the moments these two have are intense and smoking hot. They are beyond perfect for each other. If you are looking for a funny romantic book then you do not want to miss #1 Muse.

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**#1 MUSE is the fifth book in the #1 series by T. Gephart. Each of the books in the series are romantic comedies, but they do not need to be read in order. This is the first book in the series I have checked out so far and, while it was more than a little far fetched, it was a lot of fun. In Muse, we meet Claire, who is an out of work screen writing in LA, who is looking for a show or movie to be a writer on. On the side, she also pens some fanfiction featuring one of her favorite actors, Nick. When her fanfiction accidentally ends up in Nick's possession, Claire will do anything to get it back. What results is a whirlwind romance that was a lot of fun to read about.

I love both Claire and Nick. In fact, I loved the whole cast of characters, because Claire's friends were also pretty awesome. Claire is a very capable woman, and I appreciate how up front she is in pretty much all aspects of her life. She really doesn't have a problem voicing her opinion, which is so refreshing to me. (And impressive, coming from a people pleaser through and through.) Nick is a complete sweetheart. Honestly, He seemed almost too good to be true. He was utterly unfazed by Hollywood and being a celebrity. That is part of what felt a little unrealistic to me.  The whole Claire and Nick scenario felt like a lot of insta love, on both ends. But it seemed a little hard to believe when you take into account one of the parties is an actual celebrity. I would have liked the plot to have been just a bit more believable, but perhaps some of the fun of this novel is in the fantasy of this scenario playing itself out. I can certainly see that, and the romance was very sweet and fun to read.
If you are a fan of celebrity/actor romances and you are not put off by a small case of insta love, I think you will enjoy how much fun Claire and Nick's story is. The romance really is very sweet and the characters and writing are excellent. This was a fun read for me, albeit a little unrealistic.

Nick Larsson is my new favorite Larsson brother!! This book is my favorite of the series so far, and they keep getting better!! Not only is Nick totally swoon worthy but this book is FIRE 🔥 I’m talking HAWTNESS!

Claire and her besties, Luke and Scully, steal the show with their unfiltered honestly and unconditional love for each other. They really raise the bar on the BFF level. I love Claire; she’s a fierce chick who goes after what she wants. Little did she know her hair brain idea would put her face to face with her muse, Nick Larsson.

Ohhhhhh Nick Larsson, he’s so freaking charming. I mean, MY. HEART can’t take all the swooning. Who knew he’d be ok with Claire’s level of crazy lol and appreciate it that much more. He’s so endearingly sweet and spicy in all the best ways ;) The man is HOT HOT HOT!!!

#1 Muse continues the series with another fun, light hearted, sweet love story. I laughed my way through this romance, the wit and humor was on point. Claire and Nick’s story is a must read if you’re popping into the series late. But you’ll definitely want to read the rest. They’re at the top of my rom com lists!!

5 Stars!

T. Gephart continues to impress and leave me in awe of this "can't get enough of this" series. Funny. Sexy. Sweet. A ton of feels and the absolute best laughs.... the #1 series is quite honestly one of the most addicting and completely unforgettable series I've ever read... in every single way that there is in a romance novel. Every character, every word, and every single moment is written in the best kinds of ways.

#1 Muse is the fifth standalone in this series, giving Claire and Nick's story and I was so excited when I started it, racing through the pages of their fast paced story to get to that ending. I mean who doesn't love a hot, swoony actor (what is it about these freaking Larsson men?!) and he also just happens to be her muse and crush... one that she is about to get all up and personal with... and slightly complicated with in the best ways.

If you like books with witty banter, relatable characters, page turning fun, and loads of belly aching laughing...smiling then this series is a must read! Less focus on the drama and more on the good stuff, each story is perfection in every way.

I highly recommend this book.

Tina Gephart knows how to write a rom-com. Her #1 series has been nothing but hilarious and full of romance. #1 Muse is exactly what I’ve come to expect and love in her romantic comedies!

Claire Becker is an out of work screenwriter fooling around with fan-fic. Her muse? Hot as heck actor Nick Larsson. Claire’s the kind of friend you want - intelligent, supportive and dependable. Nick isn’t your typical hot actor - he’s sweet and humble with just a bit of dirty talk mixed in. Both are witty and charming. Their first meet cute unexpected and fun. Their road to love isn’t without a few bumps but then again what road isn’t?

Great friends and family, visits with the rest of the Larsson brothers and their significant others, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments and just a real good feeling, make you warm inside story about life and love. And lucky for us there is one more Larsson brother to fall in love with! #1 Love will feature Alex Larsson and releases in 2019. I highly recommend each one in the series.

Claire was crazy and I absolutely loved her! The author has a way of creating the most interesting and fun characters. Pulling you into their world and feeling they are real even with the craziest situations.

How Nick and Claire get together was just incredible. Claire attempting to break into his home to grab her story back that wasn’t meant to get to him then it doesn’t turn out how she thought it would.

The way that Nick loves how crazy she is just makes it even better. Agh, I can’t get enough of the Larsson Brothers. Then seeing the others come into this story to get updates on their lives? Even better!
You already have great characters to start then add in the most supportive and perfect best friends. Not every day when you have friends help plan the B&E along with the get-away plan instead of talking you out of it. How can you NOT love these characters!

Yet again T Gephart knocked this out of the park.

Read the book and listened to the audiobook together for added benefits and love both together and separate.

I really enjoyed Muse! It was sweet and romantic and funny. A romantic comedy through and through from the very beginning.

Claire is struggling finding her way in Hollywood, writing fan fiction about her favorite celeb Nick Larsson gets her through the day. Clare has had a thing for the man since they met on set years ago and still mourns the missed opportunity. While it's just a hobby, Clare's two roommates insists that the stuff she writes is really good which is why when her roommate has the chance hands off the latest installment to thé Nick Larsson. Now Claire has to get it back before he reads it. However that plan doesn't go as she thought.

I wanna just say I haven't read any of the previous books, which isn't needed either, but reading this made me want to read all the others. Teh characters are well written, fun flirting banter and overall fun story really.

Overall a entertaining and sweet read.

Oh my god, Nick and Claire were just so damn cute and amazing that I was a swoony mess.

I could not, for the life of me, stop laughing throughout this book. It was just a refreshing change to what I have currently been reading and I just loved it!

Claire, oh my god, Claire! This girl was so freaking adorable and hilarious. I looked like a crazy woman laughing throughout this book. If you're looking for a rom-com, then this is the perfect one for you. I am so sure that you will not be disappointed and you'll fall in love with all the characters in this book instantly.

I honestly can say that this book should be made into a movie because it's one of those that will have your full attention and walking out of the theater still laughing!

Well, that’s it, #1 Muse is officially my favourite book of this series! I have the biggest girl crush on Claire, I love her honesty, her quirkiness and especially her crazy. And Nick, so funny and sweet and just so genuine! I really enjoyed this story, it had a bit of everything from humour with some wicked banter, a whole host of awesome side characters, some drama and a tiny bit of angst. I’m going to be sad to see the end of this series that’s for sure!
