Asset management information and data (including the 5 year FCRM asset maintenance programme)

Details

The Environment Agency maintains a wide range of flood and coastal risk management (FCRM) assets, which reduce the risk of flooding to people and property. These assets include:

  • embankments
  • pumping stations
  • flood gates

The Environment Agency has allocated funding to the first year of its 5 year FCRM asset maintenance programme. They will carry out this work between 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) the timing and nature of these works may change so they can adopt safe ways of working. They will publish an updated programme every 3 months to show progress.

The following 4 years of the programme show the potential future maintenance needs. The Environment Agency will consider and prioritise these for funding annually. The allocation of funding takes into account the benefits and costs of the work and other factors such as legal obligations. A maintenance need shown on the programme for future years does not imply that funding will be available to do the work. They will add new future maintenance needs to the programme annually.

You can view the programme as an interactive map. To use the map enter the desired postcode or use the zoom tool to view the FCRM assets in your area of interest. Then click on a feature to find information about the asset and planned work.

To find out the level of FCRM investment available to maintain assets in your area either contact your regional flood and coastal committee or the Environment Agency.
