A BOY with leukemia was given a fun surprise when a comedian surprised him by turning up to tea.
Hugo Griffiths, who lives in Epping, had a huge smile on his face when he spotted David Walliams in Muriels Kitchen, Soho, where he was enjoying the afternoon.
The four-year-old was in the cafe ahead of watching The Girls, the West End musical supporting research charity Bloodwise.
Hugo, who in his second year of a three year treatment plan for leukemia, his brother, Henry, eight and parents, Lisa and Richard, were given signed copies of David's brand new children's novels.
Hugo was diagnosed with the blood cancer in July 2015 after becoming pale, tired and having difficulty walking. After four visits to the GP and a hip X-Ray he was diagnosed first with Irritable Hip Syndrome and then a virus, before a blood test revealed that he had leukemia.
