An amount of Rs 1.72 Cr spent under various schemes in Kinnaur, 114 farmers benefited

Under various schemes run by the government through the Sub-Divisional Soil Conservation Office, Kinnaur, of the Agriculture Department, 114 farmers have benefited by spending an amount of approximately Rs 1 crore 72 lakh during the financial year 2023-24. Currently, 04 schemes of the government are being operated through the Soil Conservation Office of the Agriculture Department in District Kinnaur, which include flow-irrigation scheme, water-to-farming scheme, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana and solar-irrigation scheme.

Giving information in this regard, Sub-Divisional Soil Conservation Officer, Kinnaur-based Reckong Peo Rajesh Dhiman said that an amount of Rs 1 crore 72 lacks has been spent so far in the current financial year through various schemes of the government in Kinnaur district and these 114 farmers have benefited individually and collectively. He said that while 39 farmers have benefited by spending an amount of Rs 12 lakh under the flow-irrigation scheme, 14 farmers have benefited by spending Rs 10 lakh under the Jal Se Krishi Bal Yojana.

Similarly, under the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, 30 beneficiaries have benefited by spending an amount of about Rs 11 lakh, while under the Solar Irrigation Scheme, Rs 1 crore 39 lakh has been spent by providing the benefit of Solar Lift Irrigation Scheme to 31 farmers.

He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Yojana, the benefit of the solar lifting scheme is being provided individually and collectively, while under Jal Se Bal Yojana, check-dams, water-storage tanks, Irrigation facilities are being provided to the farmers by constructing poly line ponds, seepage ponds and contour ditches. Similarly, under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, individual or collective construction of tanks, reconstruction of old ponds, water storage tanks etc. are being constructed at suitable places.

Rajesh Dhiman said that to join these schemes, people can avail of benefits individually and collectively by completing various formalities. For this, it is necessary to bring the original copy of Jamabandi and Tatima, a self-attested copy of the ration card and Aadhar card, a copy of the bank account and resolution, and a no objection certificate from Panchayat. Apart from this, to avail the benefits of schemes on a collective basis, registration of the Agricultural Development Association is necessary if the grant amount is more than Rs 5 lakh.

He said that to get more information related to these schemes, farmers can also contact the Sub-Divisional Soil Conservation Officer office, Reckong Peo located in Kinnaur, or section offices of Pooh, Bhavanagar located in Nichar and Sangla.
