This year I have signed up for a long-distance River Thames endurance swim from Henley to Marlow to support Aspire – approximately 13 kilometres in all. Last year I managed to swim the four mile challenge at Henley which involved swimming a mile, then walking back to the start, and swimming another mile, and repeat, and again. This year it's one long swim, clambering out to walk around the locks and then getting back into the water to continue swimming. The total distance is twice that of my previous sponsored swims.

Aspire provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, supporting them from injury to independence. This charity does some amazing work and makes such a difference to people’s lives.
