Outstanding students and staff from across the School of Politics and Economics (SPE) were honoured at an awards ceremony.

The annual SPE Celebration Evening took place on 28 March and once again offered members of the community the chance to reflect on the past 12 months and commend their peers and colleagues for their incredible contributions to life of the school.

Some 15 awards were handed out on the night across a range of categories, from Outstanding Student Achievement and Professional Services awards through to the Graduate Teaching Assistant and Research Achievement awards.

The ceremony was hosted by Professor Peter John, head of the School of Politics and Economics, with Professor Rob Francis, vice dean (education and students), presenting the awards.

Prof John said: “It’s always such a pleasure to host the Celebration Evening and hear the stories of our brilliant award-winners and nominees, and it’s a great opportunity for everyone to come together and look back at the academic year.

“The school is home to a huge number of incredibly talented people who go above-and-beyond the call of duty every day, whether in their professional or personal lives. I am grateful to everyone in our community for the work they do to make this such a brilliant and inspiring place to be.”
