Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following the Government’s plan for living with COVID-19, routine testing for the public ended on 31 March 2022. Test sites have now closed.

The government has published its plan for living with COVID-19. This plan includes no longer needing to self-isolate if you have COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has it. You also no longer need to take daily tests as a contact of someone with COVID-19. Instead it is advised to:

  • get vaccinated
  • let in fresh air when indoors with others
  • consider wearing a mask when you’re in crowded or enclosed spaces
  • stay at home if you’re feeling unwell and take a PCR test if you have COVID-19 symptoms
  • wash your hands regularly

Vaccination information

The best way to do this is to get vaccinated. Having both doses of the vaccine will mean you are less likely to need hospital treatment if you do catch Covid-19. You can book a free vaccination online through the NHS website or walk-in without an appointment at one of many vaccination centres in Barking and Dagenham.

The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone aged 16 or over.
