Congratulations to Nuffic on the launch of the Nuffic Southeast Asia Office! 🎉 NUFFIC has transformed its Indonesian Office to work with the Southeast Asia region. The mission of the office - to build capabilities and connectivity through education, research, training, and knowledge exchange - deeply resonate with our vision and mission at ASEF, particularly the work of our Education Department.   ASEFEdu has enjoyed a successful collaboration with NUFFIC through the “EU Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (SHARE) Programme” and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the “EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Higher Education (SCOPE-HE) Programme”. We wish the NUFFIC team all the best and are confident that this regional office will be a catalyst for positive change and renewed partnerships. As you embark on this new chapter, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead. 📣 #ASEFInnoLab5 begins! ✨ We are thrilled to share that the 5th #ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory opened its virtual phase last week, welcoming an exceptional cohort of 100 participants from 33 countries in Asia and Europe! 🚀 Participants were welcomed into the programme by Ms Reka TOZSA, Director of ASEFEdu and Prof SHEN Yi, Director of the International Institution of Global Cyberspace Governance, Fudan University (复旦大学). Prof CHEN Zhimin, Vice President of Fudan University, delivered a keynote on “AI for Science,” which was followed by a keynote on “Universities’ Role in AI Innovation Ecosystems” from Prof John SHAWE-TAYLOR, UNESCO Chair on AI and Director, IRCAI - International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of UNESCO. 💡 Our participants also had the opportunity to meet new peers and share their reflections on these keynote messages through facilitator-led discussions, courtesy of our colleagues from the Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) Dr Claudio RIVERA, Dean of the Riga Business School; and Dr Paula ELKSNE, Director of the RBS Education Innovation Lab. 📖 ASEFInnoLab5 is an experiential learning and networking programme targeted for university managers, researchers, and educators involved in AI-related initiatives. It will be a nine-week journey with a Self-Learning Phase and Team Learning Phase that will focus on the role universities play in AI innovation ecosystems, particularly in three areas: AI Governance, AI in Education, and AI for Sustainable Development.
