Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the 2023 CUEN Conference at the Cambridge Union. We were joined by some of the most esteemed speakers in the energy ecosystem that not only shared their experiences but also thought-provoking insights on the energy transition, climate change and leadership in driving sustainability. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank our keynote speaker John Browne for his engaging State of the Union opening remarks and the importance of systemic thinking. Thank you to Dev Sanyal and Wafa Jafri for the fireside chat on transitioning towards low-carbon fuel sources and its importance for the future of clean mobility. Panos Stergiopoulos, Gareth Burns, Irena Spazzapan, Julien Perez and Michael Klimbacher - your combined expertise and insights regarding the state of the clean energy investment space resulted in a fascinating panel discussion teaching us more about the different players, opportunities, and challenges relating to the industry. Thank you to Cian McLeavey-Reville for teaching us how the grid works in the UK and the large-scale transformation that needs to be undertaken as we transition to a net zero future. David Reiner, Oliver Bishop, Guy Doyle and Shane Heffernan - it was a pleasure hearing your differing views on the future of hydrogen within the energy transition, offering students a unique insight into a potentially transformative renewable technology. Jennifer Howard-Grenville, Magali Anderson, Cressida Pollock and Mark Jonathan Davis - learning about sustainable leadership from esteemed industry professionals such as yourselves provided valuable learnings to many students looking to enter this space. This conference would not have been possible without our incredible sponsor Spencer Stuart and their sustainability team Katy Jarratt, Rowen Bainbridge, Giulia Teodori, Alice Wyatt, and Katharine Ward. Finally, thank you to our alum advisors Joao Pedro Bekenn and Evan T. for ensuring that learnings from last year were not forgotten. Thank you! CUEN Committee Aarohi D.
