It’s a question best answered by the MyWellbeing network, our company-wide employee business resource group dedicated to safeguarding the physical, mental, financial, and social wellbeing of our employees. As well as weaving wellbeing into the everyday by integrating it into areas such as company policy and career progression, we also have 40 fully trained mental health first aiders to provide peer-to-peer support and a dedicated programme for our Future Talent Forum. We’re committed to standing with the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) community, and World PH Day is an opportunity to advocate for those living with this challenging condition. We want to shine a light on the signs and symptoms as understanding these can lead to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes, as like many rare conditions, PAH can often take a long time to get diagnosed. 🌟A day to remember! Our London office recently welcomed 45 students from Empower LATAM UK, a charity that provides a range of programs and events that help young Latin Americans in the UK overcome the barriers they face. Hosted by Ivonne and Angie, co-leads of our ALIANZA Employee Business Resource Group, the day focussed on mentorship and empowerment: “Meeting our mentees face-to-face was a special moment, we shared career journeys, learned from each other, and engaged in meaningful conversations. The 'career express' session fostered personal connections and camaraderie (complemented by delicious Hispano-Latino canapes!). The experience enriched not only the students but also reminded us of the power of giving back and the value of mentorship in shaping future leaders “. At MSD, we are proud to be able to encourage and foster initiatives that make positive impact and inspire change in our communities. Bridging the gap between industry and academic research with Open Targets 🔗 We’re proud to announce we’ve joined the Open Target Consortium, a public-private partnership that aims to tackle high attrition rates of potential new therapies in clinical trials.    With access to new tools and data, this partnership will inform our understanding of the underlying drivers of disease, and enable more efficient target discovery, which is critical to the pioneering discovery research we’re investing in, both in London and globally. Our routine childhood vaccination grants programme is now open for applications! 🙌 At MSD, we are proud of our continued commitment to reduce the burden of vaccine preventable diseases and to support the elimination of public health threats. In response to the current measles outbreak, we’re therefore pleased to announce the launch of the routine childhood vaccinations grants programme. We aim to support preventative actions by providing financial support to eligible healthcare organisations working towards improving childhood vaccination coverage rates amongst eligible populations within their community. MSD welcomes applications from healthcare organisations in England to help support provision for all eligible children to catch-up on their routine childhood vaccinations.
