We are proud that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets as in line with a 1.5°C trajectory (limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the most ambitious goal of the Paris Climate Agreement). Tackling #ClimateChange requires ambitious action from the food & beverage industry. Our new science-based targets – to be delivered by 2028 – prove our commitment to building a sustainable economy, by doing not what is easy, but what is necessary. British Ambassador to Slovakia, Nigel Baker, joined Tate & Lyle Chair David Hearn, Plant Manager Igor Kovačovič, Engineering Manager Jan Sido and our employees for the formal opening of new capacity at our Boleráz, Slovakia site. This €25 million investment heralds a programme to increase our fibre capacity for Non-GMO PROMITOR® Soluble Fibres for both European and global customers. The state-of-the-art facility will enable us to expand existing PROMITOR® product lines and introduce new future ones. The project also delivers sustainability benefits via supply chain optimisation and improved energy efficiency. As dairy yoghurts are consumed daily or several time a week in Europe, we know fibre fortification of yoghurts can have a positive impact on the average intake of dietary fibre while also enhancing the nutrition value of yoghurt brands.
