We gave a tour of the MTI for children (and their grown-ups!) for #IBD patient day! The children got stuck into the science behind the research with pipettes, playdoh and more! Huge thanks to Matthias Zilbauer and group, Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and nurse Claire for making the day possible. Research Nurse at the University of Cambridge Department of Paediatrics, Claire Glemas said: “Seeing young people connecting and having fun together was so special. And equally seeing the parents sharing their worries and gradually relaxing throughout the day was heart-warming. Everyone worked really hard, and the results showed.” One of the children kindly agreed to be Camera Operator for the day - view the short tour video below!
This was great fun, and fantastic to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic about learning. Love the cameos by Saffron Murfitt and Ewald Doornebal, 👋
This is sooooo cool!
