We are thrilled to announce that the UPWEARS European project has been accepted! Congrats to all partners and to the coordinator Sofiane GUESSASMA! The project aims to develop sustainable solutions for smart, functional, and protective e-textiles and equipment in sport, through innovative and replicable value chain that uses EU biomass resource valorisation. The project gathers 13 academic partners from seven countries (including Darshil Shah, Marie-Joo Le Guen and many others!) and will receive funding of 7.5 million euros. Thanks to INRAE for its support in setting up the project.

We had the pleasure of holding a very interesting discussion with ZEBRA-LIFE PROJECT’s main partners Inveniam Group and Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) - National Renewable Energy Centre. This is part of the European Commission’s encouragements for exchanges between similar LIFE Programme projects. ZEBRA-LIFE PROJECT addresses two important problems: waste production by the pulp and paper industry and the environmental and health impacts caused by the production and use of synthetic additives in multiple industrial products. Development of Innovative Biomanufacturing Technologies Using CO2 and H2 as Feedstocks for Hydrogen-oxidizing Bacteria -Accelerating Technological Development and Open Innovation under NEDO’s Green Innovation Fund Project- Sojitz Corporation, Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, Green Earth Institute Co., Ltd., DIC Corporation, Toray Industries, Inc., and Daicel Corporation, have concluded an agreement with Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) for a joint project focused on the development of revolutionary biomanufacturing technology to engineer hydrogen oxidizing bacteria that utilize CO2.
