LinkedIn now has over 930 million members. You can verify this in their about section. They keep updating that number and its growing now faster than before.

It used to grow at a rate of 2 new members every second, now its growing at a rate of 3 new members every second.

The CEO said their goal is to get to 3 billion members!

If you are not leveraging LinkedIn you are truly missing out.

Now that LinkedIn turned 20 years old in May 2023, I figured I would prepare updated stats for you to review to stay up to date with what is going on with LinkedIn.

28 is the number of wealthy, that is why I picked that 28 stats to share! Yes Bill Gates was born on Oct, 28th! Elon Musk was born June 28th!

Here are 28 LinkedIn Statistics you should know.

1) LinkedIn turned 20 years old in 2023

LinkedIn officially launched on May 5th, 2003, just nine months before Facebook launched at Harvard. The platform was originally founded by Reid Hoffman, who built the initial version in his living room. Now he is involved in Open AI.

Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016, and today, it leads a diversified business with revenues from membership subscriptions, advertising sales, and recruitment solutions under the leadership of LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky.

2) LinkedIn has 36 officies and over 21k employees!

The LinkedIn offices are located in more than 30 difference cities around the world and in the US LinkedIn has 10 offices including in the empire state building in NYC. I have yet to visit that office but maybe this summer?

3) Linkedin is available in 26 different laungauages

LinkedIn is currently available in 26 languages: Arabic, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish and Ukranian.

5) Women represent nearly 42% of LinkedIn’s leadership

LinkedIn has been actively addressing gender inequality, with women representing nearly 42% of the company’s leadership. This is a huge improvement from previous years, and LinkedIn has shown its commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all of its users.

6) Revenue increased 21% year-over-year (in constant currency) in Q1 of 2023

Revenue growth has been a major priority for LinkedIn and its user base. In Q1 of 2023, the company reported revenue growth of 21% year-over-year (in constant currency), significantly higher than the 17% year-over-year increase from the previous quarter.

7) LinkedIn currently has over 930 million members

Instagram currently has over 1.4 billion users, and Facebook has almost 3 billion. So LinkedIn may not be the largest of the social networks, but LinkedIn has more millionaire CEOs and business leaders that are active than any other platform.

8) Almost 60% of LinkedIn’s users are between 25 and 34 years old

Im not surprised that more than half of LinkedIn users are in the age group that are starting or growing their careers because LinkedIn is a professional social network but keep an eye out for the 18-24 crown that is going to be leaving Tiktok and joining LinkedIn very soon. Its powerful to see the wave coming.

9) Bill Gates is the most followed person LinkedIn @ 34 million

Yes, I follow Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft. He has double the amount of follower than Richard Branson on LinkedIn who is in second place. Do you think this has anything to do with Bill being the founder of Microsoft and them owning LinkedIn? LOL Bill has 62 million followers on twitter Check out bills posts here

10) Google has the most popular company page on LinkedIn

Often I see Google advertising on LinkedIn and their page gets so many Likes. Google has over 28 million followers on their profile which is more than Amazon and TED but what is suprising is that it has more followers than LinkedIn which has 24 million followers! 11) The most followed Hashtag on Linkedin is still #india

We give out our Hashtag spreadsheet to our clients and friends and we always check the top 100 hashtags on LinkedIn so we can leverage those in our posts. #innovation is a popular hashtag but #india has almost double the followers. You can search through schools to find Alumni and LinkedIn users can also find opportunities for education. You can also find mentors, build relationships and network with potential employeers at schools. Have you ever looked at the filtering that LinkedIn gives you when you look at a school, its very interesting.

13) 61 Million people search for jobs on LinkedIn Weekly

This number is rising everday as more people are joining LinkedIn quickly. If you are looking for employees, LinkedIn is a powerful place to find them. LinkedIn has 61 million people searching for jobs each week.

14) 16.2% of users Login daily to LinkedIn

While 48% of LinkedIn users are monthly users, over 16% login every day. That means 141 million people login every single day to the platform. That is a huge reach. Also consider that this LinkedIn newsletter will email members too. So they do not need to log in to see this article.

15) Over 36,000 active Newsletters on LinkedIn

There are more than 36,000 newsletters actively published on LinkedIn, including newsletters from influencers like Melinda Gates, Ariana Huffington, and Richard Branson, as well as publishers like The Economist. LinkedIn has become the number one resource for job hunters, recruiters, and sales professionals alike. As of Q2 2023, more than 61 million companies are listed on LinkedIn, giving users a wealth of options for finding job opportunities and new clients if you are prospecting.

18) 96% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn for organic social marketing

These LinkedIn stats make LinkedIn the top network for B2B content marketers, followed by Facebook and Twitter (80% and 71%, respectively). This isn’t surprising, given that LinkedIn offers a context in which people expect and seek out business-related content.

19) 77% of content marketers say LinkedIn has the best organic results

As well as boasting the most used platform for organic marketers, LinkedIn ranks as the best network for producing organic results. Way behind LinkedIn, Facebook comes in at second with 37%, followed by Instagram with 27% and YouTube with 21%.

24) 2.7 million companies post on LinkedIn every week

LinkedIn shared that over 2.7 million companies are sharing on their company page each week. That is powerful to see how many companies are investing in publishing content on their pages. But ther are only about a million posts going up a day for regular profiles that is a huge opportunity for you to post today and get exposure for your company.

25) LinkedIn members are viewing 22% more Feed Updates in 2023 YoY.

There are more and more people looking at the feed each year. LinkedIn recently shared that there is a 22% growth year over year of LinkedIn members checking out the feed looking for content to engage with. Make sure that you are posting on a regular basis so you do not miss out on the free exposure on LinkedIn.

26) Over 11 million members have turned on LinkedIn creator mode
