About us
What are the steps now being taken in European industry in the area of zero-emission #hydrogen? And how do these steps fit into the broad transformation of industry? Industrielinqs pers en platform, along with three award-winning young professionals (Tes Apeldoorn, Carina Nieuwenweg and Leon Rosseau) will be touring various industrial clusters in Europe in mid-2022. With #podcasts, #vlogs and a #documentary, they will report on the opportunities and challenges. We are open to #content, interesting industrial #stops on our route and #funding. Strengthening pipeline infrastructure in particular is an important prerequisite for keeping European industry both sustainable and competitive, according to Thorsten Dreier, CTO of Covestro. Not only hydrogen and CO2 need to be considered. Ammonia transport, for example, should also be prioritised, according to Dreier. There are more routes to produce emission-free hydrogen, from waste for example. Well-known in the southern part of the Netherlands is RWE’s #Furec project at the Chemelot industrial park in Limburg. Some innovative projects in this field are also emerging in the UK. Promising because the cost per tonne of hydrogen produced seems to be relatively low. Interesting developments!
The turquoise route to produce #hydrogen is still underexposed. Using various techniques, such as pyrolysis and plasma, methane can be converted into hydrogen and a valuable carbon product – without CO2 emissions. But times are changing. The first installations are put into use, by BASF, Graforce GmbH and Hazer Group Limited. And also pay attention to the plasma route!
