Big congratulations to our member Larisa's new appointment to BBA! 🎊
I am delighted to share that I have been appointed to the Advisory Board of The British Blockchain Association. Founded in 2017 with the mission of advancing evidence-based adoption of #Web3 technologies, the BBA is home to several world-class global initiatives: the UK's National Blockchain Roadmap, The Centre for Evidence-Based Blockchain, The JBBA, The Blockchain Associations Forum, Blockchain International Conferences, BBA's Metaverse initiatives, and more. BBA is also the Secretariat of the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group APPG on Blockchain Technologies. BBA president, Prof. Dr Naseem Naqvi MBE was the first person in the world to be awarded a UK National Honour in the field of #blockchain - this speaks volumes of the accomplishments of the organisation, and its leadership, and I am grateful to the BBA Board for entrusting me with this opportunity to become an ambassador of the association. I look forward to this new role and to use my research expertise in #cryptocurrency and #fintech to make an impact on policy and practice. 💧 This World Water Day we are spotlighting the policy brief on Water Metering, by Professor Carmine Ornaghi and Professor Mirco Tonin. Water is a scarce resource. Managing water demand is increasingly important in countries confronted with constraints on water supply due to extended periods of drought, leaks in an ageing supply infrastructure and concerns about the environmental impact of water extraction. Although the necessity to promote an efficient use of water receives widespread consensus among users, there is no similar consensus on how water metering and tariffs should be designed to reach this goal. In particular, the prospect of paying for water is often seen as a regressive tax at a time when the incidence of energy and water poverty is increasing among households with a low income. Installing a meter is a necessary pre-requisite for introducing some form of price mechanism to manage water consumption. 👉 Read the policy brief here: https://bit.ly/3V2RZOa

😊 This International Day of Happiness we are promoting the Development of policy recommendations to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on physical activity and mental health in individuals with multimorbidity: a mixed method study, led by Professor Maria Carmen Portillo, Professor of Long-term Conditions Management at the University of Southampton 🧠 Physical activity has a positive effect on physical and mental health, so understanding the impact of COVID-19 on physical activity behaviours (amount, type and intensity of physical activity, resources) of people with or without long-term conditions is important.
