Role Summary

 

As the Dean of Teaching and Learning I have a strategic role in developing the Marjon curriculum to enhance the student experience. I am programme lead for the PGCert in Academic Practice, working with academic and professional services staff to enhance awareness of the HE sector and develop teaching practice. I support these endeavours through undertaking pedagogic research into a range of educational development themes including education for sustainability and student voice.

Research

 

I have made a substantial contribution to the development of teaching and learning, pedagogic research and research-informed teaching at and have an increasing national and international reputation as an expert in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Educational Development (ED).

I have published in several fields including ESD, e-learning, evaluating teaching in universities, higher education provision, widening participation and inclusivity, arts pedagogies and learning development

I have led on international research projects in Europe, Asia and Africa and been funded by Universities, the NUS, Advance HE, TASO and SEDA.
