General Surgeon, Corinne E. Jordan, MD, brings her passion for healthy living to New Ulm

Corrine E. Jordan, MD

New Ulm’s dedication to and emphasis on healthy living attracted Corinne E. Jordan, MD, FACS, and her family to move to the community. Jordan, an award-winning general surgeon, began practicing at New Ulm Medical Center in February. She said New Ulm’s wellness initiative and Heart of New Ulm Project was a perfect match for her beliefs.

“As a doctor, I believe in healthy living,” said Jordan. “We ask that of our patients, so we owe it to them to live as healthy as possible ourselves.”

Jordan, who was born and raised in Eagan, Minn., attended medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She then completed her residency at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center, also in New York, before returning home to the North Star state.

“My husband and I knew Minnesota was the place to raise a family,” said Jordan, who is board-certified in general surgery.

In addition to general surgical procedures, Jordan also specializes in surgery related to breast disease, such as breast cancer. She’s also a yoga instructor and leads classes for cancer patients and their families in the Twin Cities.

“Yoga helps patients as they are going through treatment,” said Jordan. “And the class acts as a support group.” She hopes to transition her yoga class to the New Ulm area soon.

Jordan has been named a top doctor by Mpls/St. Paul magazine in 2014 and 2016, Best Doctor for Women by Mpls/St. Paul magazine for four years, and received an Allina Health Best Care Award, Buffalo Hospital Hope Award and the Association of Community Cancer Center 2012 Innovator Award.

When she’s not working, teaching or doing yoga, Jordan likes spending time with her husband and 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. All look forward to the healthy living New Ulm offers.
