The University of Texas at Arlington
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a public research university and part of the University of Texas System. There are ten campuses in this university system, including the Arlington campus. It is one of the largest universities in the state with over 41,000 students in 2017. UTA also offers over 180 different undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The university was founded in 1895 as part of the Texas A&M University System before joining the University of Texas System in 1965. The campus is spread throughout the southern part of downtown Arlington and features 11 professional schools and colleges, including the UTA College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
The BSN nursing programs accredited by the CCNE include traditional BSN, accelerated BSN, and RN to BSN. Graduates with BSNs may enroll in the MSN or BSN to Ph.D. programs. The school also offers a DNP program. Both the traditional BSN program and RN to BSN program include on-campus and online options. However, students need to meet specific requirements to enroll in the online options. The accelerated and RN to BSN programs may be completed in nine months after completing the required prerequisite courses. UTA is also one of the few universities to offer an online ADN to BSN program.
