Our 2024 Call for Innovators is closed. We are currently in the process of selecting the cohort and all applicants will hear from us directly.

The goal of the Accelerator is to support the growing offshore wind industry in New York, by bringing the most promising and impactful innovations to scale. To achieve this the program provides the selected cohort companies with bespoke support from all program partners to further technology development and commercialization goals.

Eligible Entities

In 2024, the technology areas in scope and the cohort selection process will focus on innovations that can improve project economics of US offshore wind. We are seeking technologies with the following areas, which can be both hardware and/or software solutions.

Wind power and site characterization technologies
Project and port development technologies
Installation and construction technologies
Transmission technologies
Operations and maintenance technologies

Program Benefits

If selected to be part of the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub Accelerator, startups get access to:

Intensive acceleration programming designed to advance solution development and industry understanding through workshops, site visits, expert talks, and peer-to-peer learning
Scale-up support and mentorship from Equinor to achieve a collaborative development plan to advance the commercialization objectives
Exclusive network access and introductions to enable fundraising and hiring, industry and public visibility, partner and customer discovery, pitch sparring, and strategic development planning
Comprehensive business development assistance to foster demonstration opportunities and innovation support
Tenantship at the our office in Brooklyn and free one-year access to all coworking and meeting facilities

Member Community

The Offshore Wind Innovation Hub Community

We are leveraging the space of the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub to build New York City’s community of offshore wind stakeholders. Hub Community members become part of the growing and empowering offshore wind industry ecosystem, where coworking and collective activities provide a framework for collaboration and knowledge sharing. This is a unique and free opportunity to engage with your peers, and together we will strengthen entrepreneurial opportunities of both global industry-leading startups and the local community.

Entities interested in becoming Hub Community members may express their interest year-round. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to be a contributor to the ecosystem, and coherence with the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub mission.

Eligible Entities

We welcome a wide range of entities to express their interest in joining our community. These include:

Startups or corporations with solutions that are directly connected to the offshore wind industry
NGOs and CBOs that are active within the offshore wind ecosystem
Entities that have collaborative connections to Offshore Wind Innovation Hub partners, including Equinor, the National Offshore Wind R&D Consortium, New York City Economic Development Corporation or NYU Tandon.
