We're excited to introduce you to a new way of complementing your studies and gaining exciting work opportunities – the University of Plymouth Freelancers Agency. This platform was created with students like you in mind, designed to help you gain real-world experience, earn income, and kick-start or grow your freelancing career.
The agency will be launching to clients in January 2024. Get on board now and don’t miss out on those first projects that come flying in!

Self-employment and freelancing

Self-employment is when an individual: 
  • works for themselves instead of (or alongside) working for an employer that pays a salary or a wage through the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) PAYE online service
  • is responsible for paying their own taxes and national insurance contributions.
