DESCRIPTION

The Project consists of the improvement and rehabilitation of the current treatment process at the San Antonio de los Buenos Wastewater Treatment Plant, Tijuana. The foregoing with the aim of solving the problems that arise as a consequence of the non-operation of pre-treatment, lack of preventive maintenance, dusty lagoons and the lack of compliance with federal regulations in the discharge of the treated flow into the Pacific Ocean. The project proposes the construction of 3 modules of 400 l / s with flexibility to be implemented in stages with a type of treatment using Oxidation Ditches. This treatment process generates a large quantity of sludge, making energy cogeneration viable.

PROJECT’S SUSTAINABILITY SUMMARY

The project consists in the rehabilitation of a wastewater treatment and sanitation plant in the municipality of Tijuana to comply with environmental legislation and international agreements, as well as to increase its treatment capacity improving the existing infrastructure. It proposes power cogeneration for the plant´s self-supply, transforming sludge and organic waste into biogas.
