I'm so deeply sorry to hear of Jo's death. She was such a kind and inspirational tutor to me during my time at Reading University and lovely thoughtful person. My thoughts are with her family and colleagues. Gone far too soon but wow what a legacy she leaves

My most sincere sympathies to Lindsay, Peter and all the family. Jo was a wonderful woman: clever and witty and brave. We will all miss her a great deal.

This is too sad. Jo was a valued colleague and teacher. I have fond memories of co-supervising a PhD student with Jo. She always had wise words and time for her students. She was also a brilliant academic, doing really important research on flood risk management. Jo made a difference, in many ways.

It was a privilege to work with Jo on natural flood management. She was such a positive force and an inspiration. She will be sadly missed. Her work and commitment has left a legacy that will be felt long into the future.
My thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this time.

Jo was such a refreshing person to work with. She took complicated things and made them relevant to real people to create real world change. We'll miss her smile, her ready praise for others and her intellect. Rest in peace Jo.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jo for many years on the LANDWISE project. Jo was an amazing person and changed many peoples life in a positive way through her humour, drive and understanding of other peoples points of view. I have many happy memories of talking with Jo and seeing her in action getting other people to work together. She could explain complicated things to anyone and was always happy and positive.

I am especially wishing comfort to Lindsay, Peter and your families at this very tough time.

Heartfelt condolences to Jo's family, what a loss. I interacted with Jo mainly through student co-supervision and loved working with her. So bright and knowledgeable, but really humble and a wonderfully easy and reliable to work with. Will really miss her! Keeping Jo in my thoughts, Tijana Blanusa (RHS/SAPD UoR)
